  1.  An absolute Gem!!

I absolutely loved this as a girl when it was first shown on TV in 1987 and was over the moon when I realised it was available on DVD. The series stays very close to Gerald Durrell's book which recounts the colourful childhood he spent in 1930s Corfu along with his wonderful, eccentric family and many many animals. Full of humour, warmth and wonderful scenary this is an absolute gem.

  2.  like a little bird

This was a complete fluke of a discovery for me. What a great album! She has a lovely voice and the instrumental arrangements are original, magical and slightly kooky. Love it.

  3.  Great listen

Really enjoyed listening to The 'Winter Ghosts'. Kate Mosse is sticking to what she does well with a storyline based around the Cathars and the South of France, Pyrennees region. Very enjoyable though.

  4.  Brilliant

Forget all your 'Sex and the City's and similar books or films. This is the best. Edgy, glamorous and totally gripping. I loved it.

  5.  Discovered a lost gem

I bought this book for my holiday in the Pyrennees as it is set in the region. I'd vaguely heard of Mary Stewart but didn't know much about her or her books. Well, I have to say what a great discovery as I loved this book. Full of intrigue, smuggling and murder, it's a great read. The story centres around Jenny, an English girl, who travels to the Pyrennees after receiving a letter from her cousin saying she is about to join a convent there. On arriving she discovers more than expected... Mary Stewart sets the scene well and you really get a sense of the area the book is set. The story is actually gripping and full of that comforting old 'Englishness' from a bygone era. I might now venture to read some of her other novels.

  6.  Classic

I've just re-read this after many years and it's still great. A classic tale of awkward teenage musings.

  7.  Magical

Grace McCleen is a great new writing talent. The Land of Decoration has a realy magical quality. A deceptively easy read; there are many layers which create a story that is guaranteed to stay with you long after you've finished.

The subject matter has similarities to 'Oranges Aren't the Only Fruit' and the writing sparkles. I loved this novel.

  8.  Brilliant new take on farce

This is a brilliant novel, and a great accomplishment considering it's the author's first book. Humour is a difficult genre to do well but here it is perfectly pitched. A balanced blend of the ridiculous and the very plausible leaves the reader feeling that 'by the grace of God...' it could all happen to them.

    Definitely worth a read.

  9.  Fantastic Class Box Set

The Breatrix Potter stories are absolute children's classics and this box set is at an amazing price. I have a couple of Christenings coming up and this box set is a great present for them.

I bought this mini dress a while ago and have worn it a lot. I tend to wear it as a top over jeans and it looks great.
