  1.  Monkey Magic

I loved the game it can be frustrating and very amusing especially when the girl repeatedly keeps trying to kill you both through her own stupidity. But thats why you are the hero or poor fool who has to save her from various killer robots or runaway vehicles or escape pods. The characters are great including the hilarious pigsy and vulnerable trip to the grumbling hero monkey all seven feet of him. The cut scenes are brilliant especially the one in the flying bus in the cramped escape pod those who have completed the game will know what I am talking about.

The game takes about 10-12 hours to complete but as I am now on my second play through on hard its got excellent replay value and is very entertaining with a great story and characters.

  2.  I am a perfectionist and I love this telly

I have had this TV for almost a year and its incredible it is a perfect all round television ideal for blue ray DVD or your Xbox 360. The sound is crisp and clear with resounding bass when needed however the TV really comes into its own with a HD signal when sport or movies are a dream to watch with incredible detail you can virtually count the blades of grass.

  3.  Entertaining chaotic rush of adrenaline

Split second is an excellent arcade racer with a difference not only are you racing against the clock or other drivers you have to watch the track for triggered explosions which can really alter the game dynamic in an instant. The track can change route as buildings collapse around you or a crashing jumbo jet can wipe out every care ahead of you as you laugh evilly through the burning debris to a new lap record. The game is a lot of fun in single player with clever AI and enough game modes to satisfy however the game has an extra gear when you play split screen or in particular online the human element sorts the men from the boys.

Roaring trucks exploding barrels and attack helicopters make this an entertaining chaotic rush of adrenaline.

  4.  Simply Perfection

Gears of war 2 is one of the best games on the Xbox 360 and although it is a little too short the game is so breathtakingly good that you dont mind and replays are still fun I have just finished my third play through on split screen with my nephew. The graphics are superb and the set pieces and story create a cinematic masterpiece I loved it and at this price so will you.

  5.  Entertaining time travelling romp

Singularity is different enough to have something for everyone the game is atmospheric with a few minor puzzles the graphics and animations are good but not great with a few really scary set pieces to do with swimming and a camera I will say no more.

The game is a little too linear and could have been longer as I enjoyed my journey across the island the little touches are a little hit and miss but usually entertaining such as the propaganda films however the notes and recorded audio fail to immerse you in the back story.

Would people running from monsters really drag a 7 inch reel to reel recorder around with them and then look for a plug?

The weapons are a little underwhelming the pistol in particular is pretty pathetic.

Anyway gripes aside I found the game an entertaining 12-15 hour romp across time with a really good story with good characters and entertaining set pieces 8/10.

  6.  The dogs whatsits

You too can be in a spaghetti western with bad accents and questionable morals

Cheat at cards and gun down that varmit carrying away that damsel and then feel free to tie her to the railway tracks twirl your moustache and laugh evilly.

Seriously though rockstar have created the perfect western environment hunt for lost civil war gold meet people with bad teeth and even worse breath and thats the ladies.
Gun down those who call you to account for that card you had up your sleeve and run from the posy that rides out after you after you drunkenly shoot the piano player and shoot up the bar.

On the downside the games too short perhaps the multiplayer elements will improve on this however its too early to tell but the scope for DLC is huge so this game should have a long life.

Unlike the card players who catch me cheating.

  7.  short but sweet

For starters the single player campaign is too short but has a better story and character development than the same offering from halo 3 which and lets be fair was pants. The graphics are good and its nice to see what bad ass regular human troops can do compared to the superhuman master chief.

Ambush your enemy stick him with grenades and aim between the eyes for that satisfying headshot. You cant simply rush in guns blazing as you dont have shields and will need to find a med station to patch yourself up if your plan goes awol and the enemy wiped the floor with you. Sometimes its best to sneak past a strong enemy patrol if your health or more usually your ammunition is running low.

Great fun different enough to appeal to someone looking for something new but sadly too short

  8.  Multiplayer perfection

This game has an entertaining single player story well worth 4 out of 5 on its own but it is the multiplayer game that turns this good game into one of the greatest. The fun as your squad in turn is humiliated or humiliates the opposition as you capture their bases or blow up their sacred defensive positions. Nothing is more satisfying to me as when a tank or armoured vehicle enter the fray blasting away only to taken out by a land mine a hail of rockets or a mortar strike.

Sniping is fun also as you take out someone across the map with a satisfying head shot or a sneaky knife attack and proudly display their dog tags ever mindful of the vengeful disgruntled player hunting you down.

You unlock new abilities and weapons as you progress and will enjoy the different classes

One final point if you are an engineer or medic or assault class please leave heath packs or ammo it gets you bonus points and helps out other players remember use your skills properly. Oh and please dont crash the helicopters with me onboard straight after take of its given me a fear of flying.

  9.  Alan wake you will fear the dark!

Alan wake was a long time coming and it was certainly worth the wait the graphics are beautiful but some of the animations could of been a little better but apart from a few minor glitches it is a real contender for best looking Xbox 360 game. The game play is solid and the mechanics of fighting the darkness work very well.

The story is superb the characters are well rounded and the game feels like a way out episode of the X Files or the outer limits.

Pros great atmospheric story gorgeous graphics thoughtful characters and nice touches such as the radio or TV spots find them all I recommend it. DLC episodes later this year

Cons too short with a few weak animations especially in the cut scenes.

The collectors edition is the best value for money set I have purchased so far and well worth the 49.99 especially with the added bonus of a free DLC episode later in the year.
