Especially suited to the child that is just starting school as tells the story of three little owls, Sarah, Percy and Bill that think that they have been abandoned and wait and wait until mummy comes. Reassuring end to the story, lovely illustrations.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Brilliant book. Really suited to the 3-6 age group. Has the days of the week, the life cycle of the caterpillar, numbers and can be used to teach colours. Has little holes for the caterpillar to climb through, but this does not come with many of the copies of the book (little fingers like going through if you don't have one). Fantastic!
This is the Bear
Loved by all the classes I have read it to (age 4-6). Few words, rhyming sentences, simple stories. The other books in the series are also very good.
Discovering Great Artists

Fantastic book for the 8-12 age group, less suited to younger ages. Gives information about all of the major artists and looks at how a child could look and respond to their pieces with child-like art. I'd recommend it to senior primary/KS2 teachers.

I bought this book last week. It is lovely with beautiful illustrations. As Play do not detail sizes, I wrongly presumed it was the A4 sized book seen in the shops. It's not, it's a tiny hardbacked mini book and wholly unsuitable for class where I teach. Still a nice book if you have a small child.
