Pink Floyd: Atom Heart Mother
The album, Atom Heart Mother is great. The usual weirdness you'd expect from Floyd with some great guitar solos, especially on the title track.
But that's not what you are getting here. This is one of those dull one hour TV shows where a load of people you've never heard of and Ron Geesin tell you why this music is so special. The Geesin sections are quite interesting, but that's about it.
There's little live footage. The Bath Festival performance is very poor quality and very short and the commentary runs over it, as it does with most of the other performance footage.
If you are at all interested in this music, buy the album and make your own judgement but don't waste your money on this like I did.
Pink Floyd: Live At Pompeii - The Director's Cut
33 New from
This film really shows Pink Floyd at their peak. Echoes is a tour de force and the DVD is worth buying for this alone. The setting of the ruined city of Pompeii; a live performance with no audience in a dead city is inspirational with scenes of the band wandering around the lava flowing from the volcano.
The sound quality is good. Very good considering its age. And there's also some "making of Dark Side of the Moon" on here.
