  1.  Superb

My favourite Disney movie of all time finally on Blu Ray. When I was a kid back in 87 you couldn't buy home videos easily so on a trip to the USA I was bought Alice on VHS not knowing it would not work in the UK. I was gutted when we got home and it didn't work. Finally I got the VHS when the UK started to capitalise on home VHS. When DVD came out I again had to get a copy from the USA as it was out practically a whole year before the UK.

I received my copy of Alice today and it does not disappoint. The film itself is stunningly transferred to Blu Ray. The picture looks amazing as are the vibrant colours. The audio is crystal clear. It's like watching a new cartoon not a 60 year old one.
The features are very good, most are on the previous DVD release but the "Through the Keyhole" feature pays the movie with some very informative information on Lewis Carroll and Walt Disney.
I found the Painting the Roses red game a little tedious but kids may like it.
The Disney View feature, which features artwork on the sides of the feature, I found a little distracting. I own Fantasia and it was great on that but I feel it was drawing my eyes away all the time here.
One of my favourite Disney movies, beautifully presented on Blu Ray.

  2.  Pretty Good in it's own right

I would forget how much you love the original film when you watch this. It's a re-telling with a whole different vibe to it. Sure you get Medusa, Pegasus and the Kracken but the underlying story has been changed. The film itself is a bit of a no brainer but the sets and effects are great most of the time, pegasus's wings look flawless.

The bonus features are pretty good, the deleted scenes flesh out with characters and gods which begs me to wonder why they where cut in the first place as character building was misssed in the film itself.
The alt ending is also interesting, thankfully they changed it!

On the whole its worth a watch if you like the orginal but don't campare it just enjoy the 2 versions .
