I bought this camera when it was on special, and was offered at a very attractive price. It's a neat compact camera, but what really attracted me was the lens system. 24mm wide angle and 10X zoom adds to your creativity. On the picture side, I sense this camera has yet to meet the challenges that many people look for; image quality. Pictures are reasonably sharp but it seems that the increase in pixels (over my current Fuji) does not bring much to the party. In outdoor scenes, there's a tendency for highlights to be washed out, and this can lead to an artificiality in some of the shots. Whether this is related to the dynamic range of the sensor, or some anomaly in the image processing, I am not qualified to pronounce. What I can only comment is on what I see. If you, as I do, like to use the video features of a compact camera, I find that the images are not as stable as I might have hoped and there is evidence of stuttering. The camera can shoot images in a 16:9 format and this is ideal for showing images on a modern TV. I rate this as 3 1/2 stars, but not quite good enough for 4 stars.
