Newkinetix Universal Remote Control Accessory for iPhone / iPad / iPod Touch NK100

I will keep this short (as I am sure others have given detail). I was looking for a Universal remote for some time. Looked at all sorts of soluctions and decided this was the best option for the price. I was not wrong!!! Reallty greaty product and works like a dream. Wish I found it sooner.

This little device is cool. Once you download the app (as instructed) it is really easy. You point it at the device (TV, Sky, Stereo) and it scans to find it (if it doesnt find it, or a new device comes out, you can report the missing device through there website and they will update your software through your app when you update it - i tried and it updated within 48 hours), once you have all your desired equipment on it you can sort into rooms also so you choose the room your in to give the options you need so it replcates all the remotes used onto its screen. So as well as being a nice device to have, you loose the multiple remotes in house (into a drawer for safe keeping). Also, bought a PS3 recently and realised no need to spend 30 quid on the dedicated sony remote as just uploaded the PS3 onto this! Have Xbox also so no need to buy remote again, comes into its own here. If the Mrs has an Iphone/Touch dont expect it to be as easy to explain so she can just pick it up and use instead of dragging the remotes out of the drawer again - Cant have everything!! Recommended.
DONT GO FOR CHEAP/SIMULAR ALTERNATIVES AS TRIED ONE OTHER AND THE SUPPORT FOR MISSING DEVICES (BACKUP) WAS USELESS.

First of all, this product (unlike most others) has a built-in database of thousands of brands. That means typically you don't need to learn any buttons (but you can). It also means FAST setup and use. And it also means true PORTABILITY. Set up any device anywhere, anytime.

So my advise is to stay away from the learning-only remotes. They are slow to use and VERY cumbersome. There are some that say that they can download the codes, but 'User Contributed Codes' can have lots of different problems.

I found this product to have the most powerful IR transmission. You need this. Some products use smaller IR Diodes, some limit the current to the IR diode. I would really be concerned about the new audio port based products having enough IR power.

But the real strength of this product is the feature rich, but free APP. It has Macros and Favorite Lists (including network logos). It is truly programmable in button images and layouts. But the killer feature is the Activity Remotes. This is the capability that is usually found only in remotes costing hundreds of dollars. The activity remote is where you will spend your time using this product.

Its the Activity Remotes that make this product worth the money and stand out above all others.

Sorry for the long post, but I found an iPhone remote control that I really like, and even my wife likes to use.
