I purchased this device to use with separate PAYG SIM cards from three different networks.
The installation on a laptop running Windows XP SP2 was straightforward and the instructions were easy to follow. My observations are as follows:-
1. Virgin Mobile SIM (2002)
2. Orange SIM (2008)
Provides the ability to edit / copy / delete / create / backup / restore SMS text messages and phone contacts on SIM card, as advertised.
The only problem that I experienced was the minor corruption of two out of ten SMS text messages during the backup and restore process. I am not sure how or why this happened.
3. T-Mobile SIM (2008)
This SIM card has been formatted so that it is possible to record a maximum of two telephone numbers + one email address for a single contact. I assume this was the choice of the Network provider.
Unfortunately, the USB Sim Card Manager appears capable of only reading the first telephone number for each contact. If an individual contact includes a second telephone number or an email address then this extra information is not captured by the device / software.
I recommend that buyers check the format of their SIM contacts before buying this product. It works fine as long as there is only one telephone number for every individual contact on the relevant SIM card . This fact should have been clearly shown in the listing in order to prevent disappointment.
