Supertooth Visor Voice Bluetooth Handsfree Kit

This is the best handsfree kit I have used although Like the other comments I thought it would of been a better product if it came with a mains charger. I found out after a bit of research that this product uses the same mains charger as the motorola V3, which is available to buy for £3.49 Delivered on this website.

I strongly reccomend you consider this product when looking to purchase a hands free kit

I did the usual amount of internet research as I do before I buy nearly everything. The vast majority of comment was very positive tho' I was surprised that nobody mentioned the one failing, in my opinion, in an otherwise excellent product.
That failing is that it can only be charged in-car via a 12v lead (supplied). Obviously, you need to use the unit when in the car, so charging it means that it can't be used on the visor as there'd be a lead dangling in front of your eyes. The instructions say that the microphone should be directly in front of the mouth, because of this, it can't be mounted elsewhere. A mains charger would be a big improvement.
Apart from that relatively small gripe, it does exactly what it says on the tin, well, plastic packaging anyway.
The setup is very easy, it automatically downloaded the handset (a Sony Ericsson K8ooi) phone book very quickly after following the spoken prompts. The speech is very clear during a call and the volume can be turned up very loud without any loss of clarity.
The text to speech conversion is amazing, it's so clear when announcing the caller that there's no mistaking who's on the line. It announces when the call has ended, when it has connected with the handset and when it powers up and down.
Because you don't need to look at the handset to see who's calling, you don't need to take your eyes off the road. This must mean that road safety is improved.
Summary: I would have given the Supertooth five stars but for the lack of a mains charger, however, I would thoroughly recommend it despite that. The cheapest price I found was at Play.com, the most expensive at Carphone Warehouse (£59.99) so do shop around.

I agree with most of the previous review. It's a really great unit, however as for the charging I personally don't find it a problem. It lasts 30 days on standby and as I don't use the phone a lot in a vehicle this is ample. It can also be charged by plugging into a USB port on your computer and takes less than 2hrs. I do this every two weeks over night just to make sure it's topped up.

My one small moan is the fact that there is a flashing blue light on the unit to let you know it's connected to Bluetooth. This is extremely distracting as its almost in your line of sight on the visor and I have had to put some tape over it to stop it annoying and distracting me. I fail to see the point of it really as the unit actually speaks to you and says "phone connected" anyway.

Overall though its great value for money and easy to use.

I would have given five stars if they had the facility of turning off the blue flashing light that is so distracting.

Got bought this for Xmas, never had a bluetooth kit like it. Voice is clear, using it with an iphone i can do voice dialling and the call anouncer is brilliant. Have just told mates to buy it of Play.com as they want one too.

Been using the Supertooth to replace my old Pama, what a difference. The speech quality is excellent considering it is used in a van, it has never got wrong a speech dial command and the text to speech is brilliant. Volume is unbelievable,. It is so easy to set up and it connects by itself when you return to the vehicle. I would recommend this to anyone and at the price you can't really go wrong.
