For Nokias 1st touch screen mobile, its not bad at all. However there is room for loads of improvement.

The Good -

- Comes with an 8GB Micro SD Card for all your music.
- Contacts bar on your main background for 4 of your favorite contacts.
- A proximity sensor that turns the screen off when you make calls so your cheek doesn't press any buttons
- A standard 3.5mm headphone jack for you to plug your normal headphones into to listen to the music.
- Create and customize your own themes and profiles.
- Good selection of small applications (voice recorder, calender, calculator, converter etc).
- Works well as an MP3 player once you get all your music organised.
- Very impressed with the radio and the phones loudspeaker ability. Using two speakers on the back, its very loud!

The Bad -

- The Battery life. *sigh* Its TERRIBLE! I swear I lost one battery bar just by making a call. Surely the folks at Nokia knew they were making a phone that uses a lot of power (touch screen, mp3 player, Internet, radio, loud speaker etc etc) so why didnt they invest in a better battery

-The touch screen. If this phone is going to be your first touch screen device then you probably wont have any complaints. However, if you have an iTouch or have tried out the iPhone, you will be very disappointed. It is in no way near as responsive as the iPhone. I find myself pushing down on the screen to get what I want with the 5800, yet all it takes is a tap with the iPhone.

-The camera. This one doesn't bug me as I don't take any pictures or videos with my phone, but I can see how it would annoy some of you. The camera is capable...and nothing more. Not one thing stands out with it.

- The music synchronization software provided. Its awful. Thankfully I found out you can just use good old Windows Media Player to sync all your tunes to it.

Overall - 4 Stars. It impresses but needs some big improvements to the battery and touch screen.

Hope this helps!

Gorgeous phone. Not full 5 stars because of camera

It's a lovely phone, I had the Nokia N95, which I loved! I thought the screen could have been brighter though, and it is on this 5800 model, much brighter, and a lot bigger! It's really good for watching videos on. Has a lovely crystal clear screen, and you can put lot's of apps on it from the ovi store, free, the music part of the phone is great, loud and clear, fit lot's of music, pictures and videos on with the standard 8GB card you get with it, it is even expandable to 16GB! The camera is not as good as the N95, it's only 3.1 megapixel, where as the n95 was 5, but the camera is still ok, if you're in bright conditions, it's my only gripe about the phone really, it should have kept the n95s 5mp camera and not gone down to 3.1mp, and the quality of the photo is no where near the n95 quality, which I miss it for! BUT all round, the Nokia 5800 is much better, the screen is bigger and so much clearer & Brighter, and it's a touch screen, easier to use internet... it's just an all round lovely phone :)

ok i have read a lot off reviews regarding the bat life on this phone ,yes it is true the bat could be better from nokia . But hear is a FREE way to give your bat life 30% more life , when you get the phone and have set up your pc with the disc from nokia go to the ovi website once the disc has loded on your pc , then go to there shop and click on free stuff and down load the bat extender once it loades on your nokia you get 30 % more bat life if you dont have a pc you can still do it from your nokia, go on line go to bookmarks go down to ovi and do the same there . i have got it and my bat is just fine even after watching a 1hr & 28 min film from m nokia it only used one bar.
hope this helps you all .
