This phone is amazing i have been through a lot of phones in my life and i can say this is the best its a smart/entertainment phone with easy e-mail access and quick and fast typing with the qwerty keyboard. it is great to go around the menu with the new optical track pad. this phone also has an app store so you can enjoy the phone more but the app store isn't as good as the apple iphone's app store. This phone is great for both personal and business use you wont need the 8900 curve because this does the same thing the only difference is the camera and screen and this one looks much better and you save money . The music quality is fantastic and easy to use with the REWIND, PLAY/PAUSE, FORWARD key's on top of the handset. I highly recommend this phone to any one thats thinking of buying one!.

 Great Phone with great Features

I love this phone its really easy to use and the new trackpad is so simply and much better than the trackball on other blackberrys.

I love the fact it as similar features to the iphone including downloading applications from the blackberry app world, copying images from the internet and mp3 player and videos and more importantly it as wifi.

I also love the fact it as a video camera which I think is a very good quality one.

All in all I think this blackberry is worth the money.

very good phone although cant give it 5 star because the more apps, themes, games e.t.c. it gets slower and sometimes becomes inoperable even with the latest operating system. also blackberry messenger requires you to be on contract because most networks dnt have a blackberry messenger service on pay as you go but if u are on orange dolphin package it will work fine. other networks require u to be on contract so if u dnt wanna be on one then dnt get a blackberry if all u want it for is blackberry messenger. other than that a very good phone :)

 Its ok...

so i had the choice between an 8520, Bold 9700 and an iPhone, already having an ipod touch i decided to opt for a blackberry. everybody at school has this phone so i tried it out. for me, its sluggish, tempermental, and the internet speed is shocking. the internet however is down to the lack of 3G, so in answer to a previous question, no you cant use a 3 sim card in it. but for me the two biggest problems i had with the 8520 are the screen and the build quality. the screen for starters is shocking in my opinion, icons are fuzzy and text just isnt smothed properly. but the biggest has to be the screen quality. my friend lent me hers to send a text and all i can say is the keys are plasticy, the rubber on the back is tacky and the back case is so easy to pull off. all of these factors led me to getting the bold 9700, which improves all of these downfalls (and i actually mean it) however i do thing this phone deserves ** because to put it simply, it is a blackberry, it does exactly what is says on the tin, email internet music photos videos and it does them all to a reasonable level, especially the former.

so my question i pose to you, is are you desparate for a blackberry?
can you only afford an 8520?
do you have a bb data plan (VERY IMPORTANT)?
is music/entertainment more important than email/internet?

if you answer yes, then go ahead and get this phone, however i found it wasnt right for me (:

not impressed!!!! brought the phone and the blackberry messenger does not work and wont work because you have to have a contract for it to work would of been nice if things like this were clearer because now spent 200 pound on a blackberry and one of the main features will not work!!!!
