Top 100 Mobile Reviewer

The most eagerly awaited of all Nokias for a long, long time.

As many testers say, rather then being revolutionary, it - for once - ironed out all the snags of excellent pioneering E61 and then much cuter E71; it has aesthetic appeal that grown-ups will appreciate.

It is for people who like and use QWERTY keyboard and abhor touchscreens.

It is a phone for those who need many business functions lined up in a predictable and logical way and who communicate but do not "share" (e.g., they are capable of emailing their picture to a friend) and who would never want an iPhone.

If you measure all new gadgets by how close they come to iPhone, go and get yourself an iPhone and doubt no more.

This one is for us slightly less jazzy types. This phone to iPhone is what a neat, tight, bulky and dependable wad of banknotes is to a flashy credit card that provides you with free cigar lounge membership but is not accepted in all countries.

This is a phone for the slightly boring people who rule the world.

 Excellent

I feel the review below descries what this phone is all about beautifully and I need say no more! I'm the owner of an E71, which is THE best phone I've owned to date and as a self confessed tech geek I've been through a few! But despite not wanting to let go of my E71, I've already ordered an E72 because you can't go wrong with a phone which is being touted as a definite improvement over the E71!

 Awesome!

I was looking at getting the e71 because my friend has one and I thought it was an amazing phone. However I decided to spend the extra money on this for everything else which you get with it and it was such a good decision to make this phone is so good its untrue.
Looking at the price tag you may think that it is a bit steep but it is worth every penny. Compared to the blackberry its a much better and built phone and the best thing is that it is nokia so its easy to get used to, without any hassle.
If you looking for a new phone and don't mind spending the money get this and don't be put off the idea of it being a business phone it is a good phone all round.

An excellent phone from Nokia at last!!

I have had this phone for just over a week now (bought direct from Nokia) and I have to say I am very impressed. I am very critical of phones and even the slightest annoyance can lead me to change my phone but I will be keeping my E72 for a long while.

What I didn't realise when i purchased it was that you have push email (as a result of the free lifetime subscription to Nokia Messaging on the phone), which works with my Yahoo and Hotmail perosnal accounts. As a result of this, I can confidently say that this phone is a superior alternative to any Blackberry (I owned a Blackberry Bold previously).

The key positives of the E72 for me are: Very stylish and slim, push email, decent camera and multimedia (video playback is suprisingly good and handles a bitrate of 2000!), nice qwerty keyboard and excellent battery life. I have only had to charge the phone once since the initial charge, the E72 lasted an astonishing 4 days before needing a charge and that involved a lot of playing around and push email on! I also have to say that this is easily the best quality phone I have owned; Nokia build quality can be shocking on some phones but on the E72 it is outstanding, it feels very solid, no loose parts and the metal detailing is lovely.

The only negatives for me are that the screen should be of a higher resolution than 320x240 (it's sharp and bright enough as it is though), the OVI store is seriously lacking (compared to the Android store on my other phone, an HTC Hero) and there is no native sms threading, which I find strange on a modern smartphone. In addition, the optical trackpad can either be too sensitive or not sensitive enough at times, depending on the applciation. You still get the directional pad around the optical trackpad as a backup though. These are only minor niggles though and definitely not deal breakers.

I would therefore highly recommend buying this phone, it is by far the best Nokia phone I have ever owned and is just as functional and more feature-rich than a Blackberry, especially as it now has Blackberry's main selling point, push email support including for POP3 accounts. You will not regret buying this phone!

 Excellent phone!

This phone is amazing it has everything you need and i'd recommend it to anyone. Personally i think it's better than a blackberry. The only downside is the screen get's scratched easily so id recommend buying a screen protector
