HTC HD2 delivers an experience your senses have been waiting for. The unprecedented 4.3-inch pixel-packed display is stunning. The worlds first capacitive touch technology on a Windows phone along with 1 GHz processing power ensure a smooth and lightning-fast response to the lightest touch of your finger.

Most importantly, it is our first Windows phone to embody HTC Sense - a holistic experience that focuses on making phones work in the most intuitive way. HTC Sense is based on three core principles - make it mine, stay close, and discover the unexpected.

HTC HD2's expansive display is like a canvas on which you create a phone that is just right for you. Customize the phone by prioritizing essential features like mail, calendar, messaging, browser and more. Next, with just a tap, put shortcuts to the most important people, favorite websites, or most used application right on the home screen. And if you feel like something is still missing, visit Windows Marketplace for Mobile, and install fun and useful applications.

 An evolution in mobile phones

Top 100 Mobile Reviewer

The HD2 is a truly phenomenal phone. The screen crispness and colour combine with amazing design and function. There are a few little things to point out:
1. This phone also supports WiFi 802.11n (but you have to enable it).
2. The phone has the new 'standard' Micro USB connection (not a Mini USB connection.

My first concern was the screen and the prospect of it getting scratched. This was unfounded, however, as the glass appears to be scratch proof (I honestly have taken a screwdriver to it). However, it is not indestructible. I dropped my HD2 on the 3rd day, from waist height and, as you would expect, the glass cracked all over the place. I would like to point out that the display is still viewable; there is no damage to the TFT, nor to the touch screen system. (I am waiting for my replacement).

Windows Mobile 6.5 has been skinned to within an inch of its life, and functions beautifully with the HTC Sense UI. Most of the time you are completely removed from Windows Mobile and the experience is great.

The Microsoft Marketplace does provide a straightforward way to download and install apps. However, it needs to be changed to allow you to install your app to the memory card (this is an issue with Marketplace, not the HD2).

The phone comes pre-bundled with Google Maps, which works perfectly with the built in GPS. Also, it has a Facebook and Twitter client built in. Clients for Bebo and MySpace are also available.

The e-mail and messaging is easy to set up and use. Thanks to Sense UI, e-mails and messages are organised neatly, and can be accessed with a quick finger movement on the bottom of the screen.

Sense UI also includes a weather client which allows you to choose multiple locations for your weather report, and will also give you a local report based on the GPS location of the phone.

Using the Opera browser provides a fantastic experience, and should you prefer, Internet Explorer is also available.

The phone's battery lasts well, and even with the near constant use mine gets, it only needs charging every 2-3 days (WiFi is on most of the day, and I often have the WiFi router facility in use. 3G in switched on permanently because I have my e-mail updated every 5 minutes, and Bluetooth is on a lot for my Jabra set).

This is a phone, beautiful in both design and use. As the application support increases it will only improve. Also, there are strong suggestions that HTC will be providing the upgrade to Windows Mobile 7.0 when released (as the HD2 meets all criteria for running the new OS).

This is my second HTC phone (having changed from a TyTnII) and I continue to be impressed by the equipment this company produces. iPhone fans will continue to believe they have the greatest phone, but they really are years behind HTC.

 Tech...yes...working phone and Apps...no!

From a pure technical reference, this phone looks great. I;ve now had mine for almost 1 month and HTC's response to my problems...return the phone.

Problems so far:

Bluetooth: Audio quality is very bad, starts fine then pointless to continue the call when connected to a BMW.
Camera: Firstly I had the Orange glow, the update did fix this but now I can't get a sharpe picture when using the flash.
Camcorder: Pointless...all out of focus and stutters
Video playback: Pointless, stutters, Audio sync issues
Music (HTC Application): Looks great (very iPhone) untill you put 10GB of music on the SD card. Then takes 30Secs before you can play music (during which time the interface is locked)
Volume Control: ROM update fixed the complete lack of volume control while playing music. However when you're on a call and using the speaker phone...no volume control.
Filesystem: What ever you do...don't try to sort the explorer views to "type"...can take over 1min to view the folder (during which time the interface is locked)
Screen Rotate: Only works with about 2 applications
Pinch to Zoom: Only works with a hand full of applications

In general, the phone is not fit for purpose. Looks great, sounds great...until you try to use as it as advertised. Oh...and HTC support is always...soft-reset...hard-reset...wait for patch...return item. Not a good experience considering this is the 4th HTC phone I've owned and could well be the last.

One of the best alternative to iphone!

First thing that anyone says when they turn on the phone is 'wow that screen is massive!', not only it has the largest screen as seen to date, but it has high resolution so you always get exellent vibrant display!
The HD2 is not as big as you think it is, its only slightly wider and taller than the iphone but it is much slimmer and sexy!
The 'HTC sense' is the best home screen i have seen on any phone, all your important information can be acessed quickly with just a slide of a finger. the touch screen has multi-touch capabilities and is very sensitive and responsive.
The camera is very good, speaker is good (sometimes music sound abit distorted when played full volume.)
This phone runs on windows 6.5 OS, in my opinion this OS is good, as you have no limit to what you can do to it, e.g. modify your homescreen, make tweeks to improve phone's functions and many more.
i can only see one downside to htis phone is that it does not have that many apps on the marketplace say the app store on iphone, although developers can devolp their own apps and are usually free to download.
Overall.... A exellent phone, i reckon it is one of the best alternative phones to an iphone! 9.5/10!!

 iPhone killer

This phone was my first HTC phone, when I got it I was a bit sceptical about the size. Then I realised what a phone it is! People are complaining about the size, why its the largest touch screen phone available! With its stunning 4.3 inch HD screen, the sheer quality of it blows you away. It is built with a 5 megapixel camera and a blinding flash! The camera is outstanding with amazing settings and a particularly brilliant touch focus. The video quality is just the same. The touch flow user interface is very responsive, and the HD2 makes good use of it. The home screen is fabulous with stunning weather animation. The Wi-Fi is a tad slow but its 3g is very quick. If you are concerned about the screen getting dirty all you do is wipe it and all the marks go. A brilliant phone that is defiantly the iPhone killer!

 Finally an iphone killer!

You have to try one of these before thinking about buying an iphone...my brother has just bought one of these and has decided now to give his 3g iphone away, good riddance!
Better screen quality, faster processor, better operating system, expandable memory, better camera, need I say more to prove why the htc hd2 is far more superior than the iphone?
