Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini Pro Android Sim Free Unlocked 5.0 Megapixel Touch Screen Mobile Phone

I've owned an iPhone 3gs before buying this phone, and I can honestly say. This does the job better. No other phones ever get a chance with the iPhone being out, but this phone is amazing. Save your money and choose this over the iPhone, trust me.

This is my first Android phone and after only a few uses I realised that the OS is a huge improvement over Symbian. The interface is very easy to use and only takes a short time to get used to, and the number of apps available is worth the switch alone.

Given the small size of the phone I was expecting the screen to be hard to read but the display is very clear. The touch function is well tuned and after a few prods getting used to where the touch reacts in relation to my finger (slightly lower than on my previous phone) I haven't had any problems clicking on what I want.

The phone is incredibly light - when it's in your pocket it doesn't feel like it's there at all. It also looks very compact; looked at from the front the dimensions are similar to a credit card, though it is considerably fatter depth wise. The fatness isn't really a problem though, as it feels right in your hand and your fingers naturally fit to the various controls and the screen. If it was slimmer, it might feel more flimsy. It makes larger phones like the iPhone look clumsily large in comparison.

This is the model with the keyboard. The keyboard itself is quite small but big enough to type on, and much more efficient than using the screen to type. If you've never used a phone with a 'proper' keyboard before it might take you a while to get used to the function key which is used to access symbols and numbers (some of the keys double up).

Overall, I'm very pleased with this phone and can't find many downsides to it. The only thing I think it misses is a d-pad or some cursor keys on the keyboard to let you navigate the display entirely from the keyboard. This is a fairly minor issue though, and is outweighed by the rest of phone. Love it!

Great device, good screen, good functions, HOWEVER, HERE IS A TOP TIP if you get this phone you may experience problems with all the google functions on it.....my advice is don't do anything on the phone before you've tried google mail, talk and android market where you get your apps. If it does not work the ONLY way to resolve the issue is resetting the phone to factory settings, then it should all work (THIS IS DIFFERENT TO WHEN IT COMES OUT OF THE BOX). I spent 2 days trying to resolve this issue, when you reset it wait until it restarts fully, don't switch it off when the sony screen appears to have frozen. Also beware some android apps are maliscious, only grab what you need as you can put alot of details on this phone and theres a whole bunch of crims waiting to take them, apart from that enjoy......great product.

I was unsure about buying this as i have read plenty of mixed reviews. I decided to go for it and i have to say, it is by far the best phone I have had.
It is the quickest phone for typing I have ever had- better than the Blackberry. The homescreen is easy to navigate, and its size is the perfect pocket size. If you are wondering whether to go for it, I would urge you to buy it. You wont regret it.

***To get the most out of this phone you must do the update on the Sony Ericsson website. This improves the battery life and mine easily lasts 4 days with sending several texts a day and using wifi. This update also installs the new andriod operating system, however restores factory defaults, so do it before you add any contacts as you will lose them***

I've got this phone yesterday and I have to say that I was very impressed. Having never owned a smartphone, I didn't know what to expect, but this phone Android OS seemed to have provided it all. The only criticism I have so far is that although the QWERTY keyboard is solid and easy to use, i find the spacebar a little bit flimsy.

Otherwise very happy with my 199 pound purchase.
