I had one of these before i got my Blackberry and I'd have another. This is one tough little phone and easy to use.

YES! Absolutely be aware that some apps are malicious - be careful about what you download, Android is open source so anyone can build anything - Apple and Blackberry are harder to crack but even then it pays to be careful.

BATTERY LIFE: I had to charge mine daily - it's a smart phone - you want infinite battery life dont get a smart phone! Switching off GPS, Geo Tagging and making sure you close apps properly all help in extending battery life. Your phone will constantly check in on Facebook, Twitter and e-mail if you have them synchronised so again they won't do the battery any favours.

As this is an Android phone, you may be able to update the O/S. I did with mine and it was a relatively simple operation only taking 15 minutes. I think i updated mine to Android 2.3, not 100% sure but it worked just fine.

A MUST when you first dip into Android Market is to download AVG Antivirus. Even the free version is good and offers serious protection. Pay for the full app if you feel better doing so but the free one does the job fine.

I'd not balk at getting another of these and if you're interested in a cheap effective smartphone - you can't go wrong with this one.

I was unsure about buying this as i have read plenty of mixed reviews. I decided to go for it and i have to say, it is by far the best phone I have had.
It is the quickest phone for typing I have ever had- better than the Blackberry. The homescreen is easy to navigate, and its size is the perfect pocket size. If you are wondering whether to go for it, I would urge you to buy it. You wont regret it.

***To get the most out of this phone you must do the update on the Sony Ericsson website. This improves the battery life and mine easily lasts 4 days with sending several texts a day and using wifi. This update also installs the new andriod operating system, however restores factory defaults, so do it before you add any contacts as you will lose them***

  A great little phone

This is an amazing phone in a small package that fits nicely in your pocket and for the price oozes quality.
The keyboard makes texting or sending emails a breeze and it just does everything else really well. I've had mine for 8 months now and no complaints at all. Battery life is not amazing but if you don't have access to a charger for a while turn off background data and it will last for days on a single charge. Only downer is SE have announced it won't be getting a 2.2 update.

No regrets at all about buying this!!!

Massive issues with battery life. I use this phone infrequently and just on stand by battery does not last 24 hrs. Keyboard ok but email retrieval intermittent. Just sold phone and replacing with Blackberry

I had this phone for 2 month before sending it back. The battery lasts about a day and that is with no usage! The operation system is not the best either. In general not a good buy.

  Perfect texting phone

I mainly use my phone for texting and having the most comfortable keyboard of any phone I've ever tried (yes, including Blackberries) opted for this. It isn't top spec and the battery isn't the best but with charging every night and so long as you're a normal phone user not looking for something all singing all dancing you'll be fine.

Google maps/navigation work great on here too, many times I've been the designated navigator in a mate's car or walking round an unfamiliar city with this. The camera is half decent, don't expect something top notch but if all you're going to do is stick the pictures up on facebook it's perfect.

Overall, if the main thing you use your phone for is texting I would strongly advise going for this one - go into a shop and try out the keyboard and it will impress you. Then once you've got yours download the Handcent app. from the Android marketplace and away you go!

I got one day's usage out of it before the battery drained and stopped charging and turning on. Such a shame because as people say its such a lovely looking little phone. I only wish i'd read the reviews of other userso n the Sony Ericsson forums before i decided to shell out for it. Please check the forums out first if you're even contemplating buying this phone! Refund please.

Had this phone for a few months, got it from o2 on a contract.
It's an alright phone, not the best but seems to run alot better once you update the software on it (from the sony ericsson site using the update service)

A little issue I had which is nw fixed:
The phone stopped reciving text messages during the day.... but mainly at night, the cause of this is due to only being in a G network area, so i had to disbale the network traffic to allow texts to come trough, it works fine when im in a 3G area.

This might be just on o2, unsure about other operators.

this was the phone i chose when i wanted to join the android band wagon, great little phone got used to the qwerty keyboard straight away menus and hope page are very well layed out, only snag i've had with this phone is sometimes can be sluggish and have had some problems, might just be my phone or might be all of them, great phone though would def' recomend it to any big texters or social networkers!
