  Much improved with Firmware Update!

| | See all Kevinspt's reviews (1)

Like many, I suffered with dropped connections etc. when I first started using this device with my Xperia X10 mini - however, once the firmware was updated using the SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Service) many of the problems were fixed, and the LiveView has now become a very useful and dependable piece of kit. Recommended at the price although potential buyers may want to look at the new Sony Smartwatch before purchasing?

When I first got it It, I was getting the issues that other users were mentioning on here but then I updated it and it became much more reliable.

  good compatability

i have the new sony experia s and i was waiting for the new sony smart watch to be realeased but i saw this one and thought i would give it a try to check compatability, and i also called sony and they said that the liveview watch would 90% work with this new phone, and guess what, it works fine, what a great saving, no need to buy a new product when the old ones work great.

  Promises so much

This looked to be a great product at an amazing price but, as the saying goes, if it looks too good to be true, it probably is!
Whilst full of features it frequently looses its connection to my Galaxy SII. Also battery life is well under a day and certainly not a week as reported in some reviews.

At this price I'll be keeping it for its novelty factor instead of sending it back for a refund. Buyer beware!

Not so bad with a Sony phone

Seen the really bad reviews on here and on the web, but decided to go for it when the price went down so much.

With a Sony Xperia Play it took a bit of effort to get it connected but now seems to be working OK. Yes sometimes it needs to reconnect from powersave but its pretty much instant.

Not needed to use any of the tricks on the forums yet, but at least they can be used if needed.

  Neat little gadget

It is a pretty neat little gadget. The price was the selling point for me, you cant even get a watch for 15 these days xD Havent had any problems using it so far with the Galaxy S2. With the live view app its pretty customisable and if you want you can have every tweet be displayed. Its max range id say is around 3m so you gotta have the phone close by, cant leave it up stairs and go downstairs expecting it to work. Limited amout of apps unfortunately, twitter, fb, txts, calendar is pretty much it. But at the end of the day you wont regret the 15 price tag for such a nerdy gadget xD

  excellent useful product

| | See all james222's reviews (2)

This is great for instant facebook, twitter, rss, text updates that you can read on your wrist. Battery lasts about 3 or 4 days. If your phone is in your pocket or bag its really useful. Im a cyclist so i can now see things i would normally miss. There was an update early this year which improved stability. Occasionally disconnected from my motorola milestone 2 but the benefits outweigh the hassle of the occasional reconnect. I fitted a 20mm divers strap. 1 annoyance is you have to unclip the watch from the housing to access the charging port. I love this device and for the price its a bargain considering what it does.

Slow, awkward to control and awful battery life!

When the device loses the connection to the phone, often you have to reload the LiveView Application to get it to work. Not very useful for a gadget designed to REDUCE how often you take your phone out of your pocket.

Worse still, the battery life at best was 6 hours, if I do not use the device at all other than checking the time once or twice. If I actually use the functionality then that drops dramatically.

What good is wearing it as a watch if the instant I need to know the time, oops, the battery is dead. I would expect at least 24 hours use just checking the time occasionally, not 6. It doesn't even warn you of low battery, it just suddenly won't turn on.
