The HTC Wildfire S is the excellent entry-level smartphone that is the successor to the compact and feature-packed Wildfire from 2010. Though more of an introductory model than others in the HTC range the Wildfire S does not compromise on smatphone features or quality; it's tiny, curved unibody shell is satisfyingly solid, and feels great in your hands.

Inside the high-quality design the Wildfire S builds on the features of its predecessor with a 3.2 inch HVGA touchscreen which has twice the resolution of the original, plus the latest version of the Andriod operating system (Gingerbread) under the hood. The 600MHz processor might not be the biggest, but paired with HTC's Sense interface on the Android platform they give a good performance in all the smartphone fundamentals such as web browsing and app usage. The Wildfire S also has a 5 megapixel camera, GPS, WiFi (B/G/N), Bluetooth 3.0 and a memory card slot, meaning it can more than hold its own against rival mid-level smartphones on the market.
