Maxell Air Voltage Wireless Qi Charging mat ONLY. Works with all Qi compatible phones and others chargeable devices - a few current smart phones don't need additional cases to charge as Qi technology is already built into them - like the Nokia Lumia 820 Lumia 920 LG Nexus 4 or Google version. Please check compatibility of your Phone or product before Purchase.
The mat can be used to charge any Qi compatible or enabled products.
Other Phones will require an additional sleeve case to works with QI charging Mats - (sold separately), they are perfect for everyday use as a protective case. Place the sleeve on the mat to start charging wirelessly. In the near future there will be a rise in the number of electrical products with built in Qi wireless charging capabilities, therefore devices will be charged wirelessly without the need for a sleeve. Devices ranging from MP3 players, Smart phones and Digital cameras and media players are set to have Qi built in. The Sleeve needs to be purchased separately for the corresponding phone. Maxell will be launching sleeves for a range of mobile phones including blackberry's, iPhone's and various smart phones. The charging mat uses an electromagnetic field which sends energy directly to the device to be charged.

Got given this for Xmas to use with my Nexus 4, and charge it it does. It has no problem that the phone sits in a gel case, and charges it up at the same speed as a mains charger.

It makes a bit of a ticking noise when there is no phone on it, but it silent when charging. I assume that the noise is it polling for a compatible device, it's not super loud or anything, I only noticed it because I put the mat about 6" from where my head ends up in bed. A bit of Googling brought up that other Qi chargers also tick when not charging, so I guess it's par for the course with this technology.

The LED is a bit on the bright side, but I've found charging area to be large enough that you can cover it and still have the phone charged.
