I got mine as a present from my Hubby. First non-hand-me-down phone I'd had - thought I was the bees knees with a talking phone. However after a few weeks the buttons stopped working properly and again, like some other reviews, the predictive texts were driving me mad and missing letters etc - but thought ok, put up with it, but it got worse. And yes is does need charging up all the time and even though there's a warning it's far too late. Anyway, on holiday left on the kitchen top and some fizzy water spilled over the glass and went under the phone, which was about 18inches away. Wiped it immediately. Left it to dry, came back a couple of hours later and couldn't turn it on. Finally it will turn on if I use mains charger, almost like jump-starting it! Can't use options, can't press centre button to select anything. Can get into menu, but have to use side buttons to move round menu. Can receive text but can't reply. I've had it 7 months and according to Motorola it's not guaranteed for water or food spillages - £200 down the drain!! I read all the reviews before I got it and the spec is brilliant and it does do exactly what it says, when it works, but had cheap cast-me-downs that have been more robust - it's far too fragile

I had to take mine back as the buttons would not work properly after only a few weeks of use.
It was replaced and everything seemed fine.
Then the buttons on that phone failed and my text's ended up looookiing a bbuttt luke thiis.
It looks nice and is a pretty good phone...just wish it would work :(
Could be better...

Phone is very stylish and well built, the metal frame sets it asides and gives it quality looks and finish. This does make the phone quite heavy though.
Battery life is poor, if used regularly the phone does need charging each night.
Menu is ok, although I find it can be a bit slow sometimes. Mine also seems to have developed a fault where the * button needs to be pressed harder than all the others. When texting this is very irritating!
As with most flip phones, inorder to open the cover you need two hands most of the time, this means using the phone while doing someting else is difficult. Although the front screen does make up for this some what!
It is a shame they could not have kept the USB jack as used on the V3i, just means more cables needed, and if it breaks a generic USB one won't do!!!!
Awarded 3 stars, the phone is OK although I probably wouldnt buy it again given the choice. Its a shame as its such a good looking phone as I often get comments on how nice it looks.

I have this RAZR V8 for 3 months now and I say its a great Phone. Just the cover of the Battery is my only complain as its impossible to open it. But I managed to find a trick. Use a credit card to open it. But, after I scratched the original cover. Sound and Camera are great. Recomended.
Awsome

I have had my moto v8 razr2 now for nearly 6 months it is an awsome phone with a battery life that meets to a excellent standard i can use the phone heavely during the day and walk home and listen to mp3s on the way home from work ,
yeah sure at the end of each day sure it needs to be charged but for some thing to have gadgets and be practical while being stylish this is something to boast about.
i would recomend this to any one.

Upgraded from V3i to V8. Have to re-charge every other day was told this was due to colour screen and high graphics quality. Display completely disappears occassionaly, and keypad sticks, so letter/numbers either don't appear or you end up with 2 or 3!! Has made me think twice about getting a Motorola again.

fancied a change from nokia to Motorola, read reviews on v8 and all seemed good ! not quite..first use..flat batt 2.30 in the afternoon..blue tooth kills these phones, sound quality is excellent...4 x blue screens in first week, pull the batt out job !..for a gimmick good..for people who use these for work. don't bother..presently with play for integration...but don't want another motorola ever again... be warned..
wow!
