The phone it's self is very nice and lite, however i bought this phone thinking i could use it as an Mp3 player, and add most of my library to it with the addition of a sandisk 8GB memory card, however whenever i turn the phone on the music library takes 15minutes to update even if i have'nt added anything new, attempting to do any other tasks durring this period causes the phone to freeze, also the music quality is'nt so good and jumps in places.

Khp247 doesn't seem to know what he's talking about, saying it has a 176x144 screen is way off, its 240x320, exactly the same resolution as the nokia 6820 which you seem to think is 620x480, which no phone is that high, that's not even a proper resolution, the highest so far on phones is the iphone and similar others, which are 320x480, as for no where saying the resolution, everywhere does! You google this or any other phone and within seconds you'll have the specs up telling you everything about it! Now then. Camera... Meh, pretty bab lens so pics don't look great, the cmos sensor aint great so you get red green and blue phosphor spots in the pics when lookin at a pic on a big screen, at native resolution they look pretty awful, my ancient 3650 with its measly 640x480(vga) camera took better pics than this, the screen is a bit dim on it too, other than that it looks good, its nice and slim, decent battery life and the mp3 player works well, i also have a 5300 in the same colour as this. The menu's all look the same, mp3 player is slightly layed out different, to be honest i prefer the 5300, its shorter but fatter as its a slide open phone but it has a much louder speaker and the screen is significantly brighter. So if you want a nice thin phone get this, if you want what essentially is pretty much the same phone but shorter and fatter and brighter aaand louder get the 5300 xpress music.
That is all, peace out kids!

This phone is a wicked choice... its small light easy to use, looks cool and the mp3 player and software are ez to use, coz its nokia..
plus this phone will take the play.com 8gb hc card that only cost £17.00... the sound quality is good and its loud, plus nokia have software updates to download off their site... also themes are ez to use on this phone so its good for personalising.. I had the motorola v8, this phoneis so much better,,, so get one, and get a cover for it to... thats the score so peace, and dont forget peeps drugs are bad

I just purchased one of these as my old 6820 died. Was looking for a nokia as quite frankly the sony phones are poor quality compared, the samsungs are horrible to use and any other brand is not worth the hassle. I was looking for primarily a music player phone that was small and sleak, which this fits the bill perfectly.

I will start with the bad points on this phone, the camera is only 2 megapixel, the shots however are crisp. But I have no idea why all the phone companies keep on using old technology on the new hand sets. Makes no sense. The video quality on this phone is seriously crap, and about 5 years out of date. The resolution is only 176x144, which is the same as the very old samsung D500. My 6280 was in the region of 620x480 which is very crisp and clear. So with this phone I am afraid no impromptue porn videos of the girlfriend!!!! It is very annoying that all the websites never give you the video resoloution on the phones, so no way of finding out what it is until you have actually purchased a phone and once opened you cant return it anyway!!

The headphoes you get look and feel good quality, but they have absolutely no depth of sound or bass to them at all. They come as a 2 part lead, the bottom section has a button clip that you use to change tracks whilst on the move. So what I did was to use a pair of sony headphones and plug it into the bottom part of the lead and now I have a decent music player.

- even though this phone is vodafone which tend to have unlocked handsets, this phone is locked to the vodafone network. No free unlocking codes are available as of yet. However I needed to get my phone unlocked as I use orange and have the code written down somewhere so will post it here in a few days.

Now to the good bits:

- the music player sounds better than my ipod 20gig. So I use this now as my main music player. Even though it has only 2 gig of memory ( you can put a maximum of 4 gig ) I find that I never listen to all the songs anyway. I was going to purchase a creative zen 4 gig, but once I got this there was no point. It has a graphic equalizer which includes 5 pre-sets, normal, rock, pop, jazz, classic and 2 more pre sets that you can edit to you own preference. The volume goes up nicely too which I found a problem with the ipod, it seems very quiet.

- I have heard reviews on other websites stating the battery life is really poor. Moaning about the stats being incorrect in regard to talk time and standby mode etc. Well I use this phone every day for about 2 hours as a music player and the rest of the day it is turned on and obvioulsy the odd text and call. have found that I tend to charge the phone every 4-5 days. Which in comparison to my 6280, which needed charging every day pretty much, is really good.

- You really have to see the phone to realise how nice it looks. Most phones are bulky and quite ugly, but this lil gem is GORGEOUS!!! It's slim and looks stunning. The screen is also very clear.

Here is what I got in the box:

- the phone ( which you'd expect )
- charger
- headphone set
- 2gig memory card - sd micro
- instruction manual and cd rom

If the video was better and the camera at least a 3 mega pixel, then this would be the perfect phone. The newer version is the same spec so dont bother getting it at double the price, buy this one. VERY GOOD MUSIC PLAYER!!!

i was very suprised by this mob by how close it cuts the sony walkman mob i have the w810i and this nokia i thought was a lot more better with crisp clear screen and camera. It has a head phone jack so you can connect any head phones unlike the sonys and also very thin, lite. its a bargain!!!!!!!!!!!!! at £80
