Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars Technically this phone is great, but ...there's always a BUT

I have purchased this phone few weeks before from play.com.

Many Good things: I liked it's camera (5MP) clear photographs, Wi-Fi is very hand as I like myself to remain connected, GPS seems to be good with 3D viewing and audio as well. The video call is all great! I like how the camera starts by just flipping the lens cover..in an instant..it starts...

Bad sides: It seems there is a technical glitch with the memory card. Mine was working ok, but from just a week it is saying "memory card corrupted" then I searched the net and found that even other people are finding the same problem...I can't give the link here but just try searching "N82 memory card corrupted" you will see whole bunch of people having the problem.

Ok so that was my first disappointment with N82....how on earth they haven't checked this so basic problem..? Come on Nokia!

Secondly, If someone is concerned on how his/her mobile looks, I would advice that person to go for other alternative....as this mobile FRANKLY is not stylish. It has an industrial outlook, prone to thumb impressions and it definitely needs a screen cover or else your screen will be full of scratches!

Why I bought this mobile: Frankly speaking, I just liked it's Wi-Fi, 5MP camera and in built GPS. These all weighted more than the look for me.

Anyway I have to get round this memory card problem, presumably ask for a free replacement if I could get a hands on to one of the Nokia shop here in London.

In long term, I will definitely sell this phone and buy Sony Ericsson C95 which will have a glorified 8MP camera.

Ok, lads that's my story.....each and every point I have stated came straight from my experience. Thank you.

i brought this phone elsewhere because i wanted the black version anyhow the features of the phone is packed certainly worth the money its a lot easier to access the internet using wlan feature which saves clocking up my phone bill to update features and services mp3 player is ok but for me the camera and video features were the deciding factor for buying the phone pics/video are excellent compared with the n95 and n73 on the whole the phone is not bulky or heavy compared with the n73 anyhow this phone will last me for along while you will not need any other phone right now in the price range does most of what i need apart from makin the tea

This phone is absolutely fantastic as it's very fast and has a great camera. The quality of the camera seems to be better than the Nokia N95 and Nokia N95 8Gb, due to having an additional Xenon flash which highly increases the quality and brightness of the pictures. On top of that, the sleek appearance of the phone's design and the arrangement of the buttons also makes the phone phone stand out as being one of the most admired phone designs ever made.
Furthermore, the screen rotating once the phone has been rotating is also an outstanding feature which uses the accelerometer and can be very useful. Memory cards can easily be accessed externally without having to remove the battery of the phone and the battery life is good too. The phone has been well thought of as there's a very aspiring slider on the rear camera as well as there being an exclusive design on the rear of the phone which adds to the quality of the texture and appearance of the phone.
And, what more can I say? This phone has it all: 5MP camera (Carl Zeiss) with xenon flash, GPS, bluetooth, Wifi, memory card, over 100MB internal memory, accelerometer, great screen, good 3d stereo sound, etc.
This is an absolutely fantastic phone and would be a great phone for almost everything. Nokia N82 is just the best!!

The N82 is often disregarded in favour of the popular N95 8GB, but the most impressive feature of the N82 is its camera. Do not under-estimate the Xenon flash and Carl-Zeiss optics. It takes noticeably better photos than the N95, particularly in low lighting. The screen may be a substantial amount smaller, but so is the phone, and the resolution of the screen is sharper than the N95. Plus, the smaller screen means it drains power much slower. Even on the highest brightness setting, and with heavy use of music and camera, mine lasts three days on a full charge, unlike the N95, which can often only last one. For me, this is one of the best smartphones on the market at the moment, and by far the best camera-phone. Plus, it looks pretty smart too.

I've had this phone for nearly 3 weeks after receiving it for a gift. This phone has some brilliant features, the 5 mega picxel camera can take superb photos and can also record high quality video and it also has a music player which can be organised into albums, genres etc. The Nokia N82 is easy to use and I would recommend this phone to everybody!

been using for the past 2 months great phone slimmer than n95 8gb i preferred n82 form factor compare to n95 slider less fussy better xenon flash with camera lens protector with the latest firmware the map works even better but still no where near tomtom or garmin though but it is good for the phone i just use it occasionally so i think this is a perfect phone for anyone who need the all in one gadget MP3, phone camera and gps ( mp3 function is a bit slow i got in 8gb card it is working fine but as u know the battery won't last long if u use all these features ,wifi is a plus for ocasionnally use , gps need to pay for gprs connection for map download and update)

i've been contemplating buying a new phone fro the past 6 months now, and had my eye on the n95 but after all the bad comments regarding battery life i just couldn't buy it, so then i stumbled across the n82 and i'm so glad i opted for this phone i've had it about a week now and so far havn't had any problems at all with the phone, all the functions are easy to navigate through and the nokia sync package you get with the phone is a really nice touch, it puts all your text, pics in a timeline on your pc so you can look back on the year and remember all the things you got upto with very little effort just plug the usb into your pc and press sync, the camera phone is the best i've seen in day and night conditions, i took a picture of an object in daylight and pitch black its very difficult to know which is which, the flash is that good. the battery is lasting about 2 days between charge but i am messing with my phone alot at the moment, i havent used the sat nav because i don't have a decent internet phone package with my sim just 300 text 300 mins for £10 but virgin have told me there is something coming out soon. he also warned me the sat nav can cost you alot of money if you use it because you constantly receive data and that is how you are charged per mb of download/upload. i had no problems connecting my phone to my wireless router but haven't tried it whilst away from home yet. it has that tilt screen iption where if you tip the phone sideways you pics turn automatically sideways in landscape mode, the camera is also switched on by just flicking the lense cover open and you can set the camera to take multiple shots by keeping your finger on the button, but there is about 5 seconds between photo's. the only gripe i had at first was the size of the keys they are all bunched up in the bottom quarter of the phone and holding the phone in one hand and texting is quite hard so i find it easier to use both hands and thumbs whilst texting. it also has a option where you set the phone to actually tell you who is calling it sounds a bit robotic and if you have a noisy ringtone its hard to hear but to the ring tone of diamond hoo ha man (supergrass) it speaks between the guitar rift at the beginning!!
so if your asleep and someone rings you don't even have to make an effort to see who it is the phone just tells you.
all in all i am more than pleased with the phone and feel i have only just scrached the surface of the n82 there are so many options and handy time savers on there i'd find it very difficult not to recommend this phone, it also got the gadget show thumbs up where they did extreme web blogging and 2 out of 3 of the presenters actually own the n82 which says quite a bit considering they test all phones!

there is probably only 1 thing the n95 has over this phone and that is its looks, apart from that this phone beats it everywere, the camera is unreal for a phone, best camera on a mobile yet, with also the xenon flash makes it even better, also has a upgraded gps so u can get a signal quicker and better, this is a MUST buy

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars Brilliant phone | Picks up where the N95 left off!

Let me start off by saying how good this phone is. It has EVERYTHING the N95 has and more! This phone looks much better than the N95 too. The overall layout of this phone has been vastly improved from the N95 and it has been made much more compact. This phone is slightly less in width than the N95 which is also a great plus. Having such a good Orange Business contract It allows me to change my phone every 6 months and preview the newest phones for a week before choosing. They've also made this phone more business user friendly, its more simply and doesn't have that pointless two way slider which you'll use once.

Overall, everything the N95 is and more!
Brilliant phone.
