I have just bought my 2nd 3 broadband dongle for my sister...as they are just amazing! The speeds are great, even if you live in a rural area like I do...and, on 3's website there is a map which shows you exactly how much signal strength there is in your area!
Before I bought this I was worried that I would exceed the download limits...because I use the internet quite a lot. But I've found that the £10 top up is plenty, and for the months I know I will be downloading films or something, the £15 top up is available....there's even a £20 top up for even more download!
The build quality of the actual modem is great...I've put it through quite a lot and it's still all in one piece! I much prefer this design to the stick design, as even the slightest knock to one of those can break a USB port...
I'd definitely recommend this product, its fast, its cheap, and means that the internet is where ever you are....rather than the other way around :P
Bought this little beauty a week ago, installed it in minutes and it has been my best buy this year so far. Such a handy gadget, cheap running costs and this has given my laptop a whole new purpose. I can now take my laptop anywhere rather than being tied to my home wi-fi or having to pay £5/6ph to access cloud etc. This device really is a bargain for the price and you are in complete control of how, where and what you use it for and when you consider all this for as litle as a tenner a month, you would be mad to pass it by. Treat yourself, you will be glad you did!!!!

This is a pretty good device overall. Easy to setup onto your computer and easy to top up, as you would a standard pay as you go mobile. The downloading speed varies from hour to hour and day to day and can sometimes can be very fast and at other times it is so slow its only good for a little light surfing and emailing. A good purchase but it does not replace standard phone line broadband. Great value for money though.
Brilliant and a MUST BUY!!

What a brilliant thing to have if you got a laptop, I'm currently using this while writing this review. The internet speed is fast pages load instantly and works while in the car (passengers can surf the net). Easy to install no CD's all the software is installed in the modem, up and running within 5min. I would recommend to anyone!!!

I have one of these, but in the black colour.
The signal isnt that good, it disconnects a lot. Also the speed isnt too good. And if your planning on getting this to use on a train, I wouldnt bother. Its pretty much useless.
Great for those who don't want tying down

In response to Lee's comment. I work for the network, they've released it on PAYG so even those with poor credit rating can take advantage of the offer. No other network gives you the reasonable download capacity as 3 does on the PAYG range. It also allows those who don't want to be tied into a 12/18/24 agreement to get the same benefits, and you don't have to top this up when you don't need to, however, you are right, there is a 30 day expiry on the voucher. Other than that, It's actually a really good investment.... especially as you can get rid of your land line for it. Also it's cheaper on here than in the shop. I've got one myself, can't grumble.

Sorry if I'm being dumb or missing something, but if this is Pre-Pay (pay as you go), then why do you have to buy credit every 30 days ? Do they wipe out any credit left after 30 days ? So.... that in effect make it's a contract ! Admitted you can decide how much you want to spend but you are still paying every month. Is this right ?
Does it come with a PAYG SIM?

I would have couple of these only if these come with the sim.
Perfect

This dongle is exceptional in quality and performance. As others have said it's marketed at 2.6mps connection but everywhere I have used it so far (N.West) it has connected at 3.6mps.
The software to use it is very straight forward and full of great features.
If you want/need mobile internet to use anywhere in UK, with no contacts, this is for you. I endorse it 100%.
Topping it up like a mobile phone is just as easy and instant.
Thanks 3 for making my life so much easier.
