Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 Sim Free Unlocked Touch Screen Mobile Phone

This phone is something else. The first sony smartphone with windows mobile the new panel fetchers is an easy way of navigating through the different applications and with the qwerty keyboard it is better than on screen keyboard. This is a phone to easily take on the iphone and its competitors. This is a must buy !!!

As long as you remember the Xperia X1 runs Windows Mobile 6.1 and the screen uses a technology which means it not as sensitive as the iPhone then you'll be very happy with this device. The positive aspect of WM6.1 is that you get Mobile Outlook (email and push email like BlackBerry) and Mobile Office (which you don't get with the iPhone). The SE magic is the design of the hardware. A fantastic screen with a resolution of 800x480 pixels and a usable slide-out keyboard. Nice designed buttons and keys. Finally, SE have implemented a User Interface (UI) idea called Panels. This lets you have a UI for Business and a UI for Entertainment (music and FM radio). More Panels will be added in the future. In fact there 'hacks' available which mean you can run the HTC Touchflo 3D software in a Panel as well. The battery should last between 1.5 and 2 days between charges (better then most Smartphones) Overall a very flexible, usable and attractive package. Probably the best WM Smartphone available today.

I love my gadgets and have waited quite a while when it comes to a good touch screen this one wins all hands down with its qwerty keyboard. Unfortunatly its for christmas and i was only allowed an hour to play with it and it was took off me until then **cries** but it only takes a quick 5 mins to set up i connected it to my home broadband in a few minutes and had a look at bebo on it. The widescreen is brilliant when looking at webpages as you get to see more. I would def say buy this item if you can. Down with the iphone up with the x1!

The Xperia is awesome to look at... gets lots of oohs and aahs from friends. but im just not that thrilled with it! i waited for this phone since DEC 07 when it was meant to be released in FEB 08... and wasnt!

i waited until NOV 08 before i could actually buy the xperia in a shop. the first week or so of having it, i was in love with it... but having had it for some time now, its starting to get on my nerves. its slow when doing a number of things, like when u slide it open and the page changes between horizontal and vertical, it takes a while, and also accessing some applications. i personally just feel its a bit poor... the only reason i still have it is for my own vanity, :P, because people always comment on it.

its possibly not as bad as i make it out to be... i think i just expected a lot more having waited on it for so long.

BUT I FIGURE IT ISNT DOING TOO WELL AS IT HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED... SAYS IT ALL!

I had a samsung Omni I 900 before this which had lots of problems and after 2 of them I changed to X1. So glad I did because it is a phone that does everything a smart phone should do with ease. I have chunky fingers but find the keyboard easy to use and the touch screen is posative without being to sensitive. This was a problem on the Omnia .
Some great features and the playback quality is exceptional.
