Parrot make fantastic bluetooth handsfree kits, I can't argue with that. But they should have stuck to doing just that. This head unit is terrable!!

There are just so many issues with it.

1. The build quality is aweful. It feels like a stereo costing £30 from a market stall. The front panel is hard to fit onto the head unit, and taking it off usually results in it springing into the foot well.

2. It constantly locks up. When changing between sources such as radio and ipod it freezes, the only way to get it back is to remove the front panel and replace it, however see the issue above and you'll realise that doing this while driving is just plain dangerous! I've had a replacement face plate for mine to help sort out the freezing issue but it hasn't helped and after trolling through the forums it appears this is a common problem.

3. It whistles. This may just be mine, but with the sound turned down low you can hear a whistle in the back ground, in fact it is quite noticable, especially during quiet parts of songs.

4. Sound quality. For this kind of moneyI'd like to have a decent level of sound quality, unfortunatly this doesn't do it. The sound at best is tinny.

Over all this is a big no for me, I can't fault the phone side of things or the blue tooth, but I'm going to be replacing it with aan Alpine iDA-x001 and running either a Parrot bluetooth unit to it or Alpines own.

Verdict - Stay clear!
