After being an avid sony ericsson fan for 8years since the release of the t68 i decided time for a change.I work for carphone and get too see how many sony phones get brought in for repair so i decided to buy my first samsung the tocco and was i not dissapointed.Ive gotta say a great phone and very relible but lacked a decent camera. All the other features were great but i needed more so i then bought the lg renoir and i have to say after a few weeks i began to dislike it.I wanted my old tocco back. You couldent use different ringtones for different callers like the tocco and the keypad isnt that responsive and the camera isnt all that good.My other choices were the c905 and the i8510 but didnt fancy the sony as yeah the camera is great but its so boring and nothing different. The samsung i8510 innov8 on the other hand is without doubt the benchmark and in my eyes the class leader for the camera and features and have too say it beats all other phones like the iphone(yuk) and the poor camera on the n96.Please anyone who says otherewise dosent have a clue,I get too use these phones day in day out and use all features on all of them. All phones have great features and are suitable for certain people.I have to say the i8510 is great but im not a lover of the symbian s60 software and to get the best out of it regular software updates are always needed too keep them running well but isnt a bad thing as there are plenty of free apps for the operating system online.Me on the other hand waited for the pixon to come out and boy was i not dissapointed its like a tocco on steroids. The software is fast and responsive and the menu nicely laid out.You can use individual mp3s for certain callers and its loud. The camera is also very good and lives upto the other three 8mega pixel phones. The dual led flash is better than i thought and can take pics in the pitcth black with no hassle and good results. The other nice feature is the the updated widgets theres one widget that you can connect to the net and download new widgets free from samsung which is what they should of done with the tocco. The only downside is lack of wi-fi but i have too say the hsdpa connection is the fastest ive used and is just as fast as my lg renoir when using wifi.Another nice feature is the dedicated picture browser in which if you tilt the phone left and right the pictures will fluently change too the next or you can just move your finger from the left to the right of the screen and the picture will change just like the iphone and just as fluently. So in all a great substitute if you can see through all the iphone hype.Out of the 4 eight mega pixel phones out there this is by far the most user friendy so if you like the tocco go buy one now!!!

I have been a fan of samsung for years, so when the opportunity came to buy this phone i did, with high hopes from what i had read in reviews and on websites i couldnt wait to own one. But within a few minutes of owning this phone it came to my attention that it lacked user friendly features. In this review im going to focus on the cons, as i think its important to point out the negatives as well as the positives - as per most other reviews.

First of all the key lock, why on earth has samsung arranged for this type of key lock, it consists of a button on the side of the phone which sticks out and all you have to do to lock/unlock the phone is press the button. I say press, its more just slightly tap it and it unlocks the phone, and the fact that this phone can be used with a stylus means that if the phone unlocks in your pocket, which happened to me allot, then anything that taps the screen causes all sorts of actions, ringing people, messaging people, opening up the internet, all from inside a pocket. Why didnt samsung arrange to have an unlock feature like the ipod touch or at least have the button so it unlocks after a certain amount of time pressed.

The calendar has no features, you can only enter schedules which are limited to 15 characters. Where have the anniversarys, memos, to do and misc options gone, they appear in the samsung pc software but not on the phone, just says not compatible.

The phonebook doesnt have a search feature, so everytime you want to call someone new you have to scroll using your finger up and down the screen, would be ok if the screen was responsive but 9x out of 10 you select the wrong person.

When texting because its all touch screen there is no d pad, so when you want to edit a text by moving the curser you have to try and get it in the right place by tapping the screen with your finger, in the end a text can take minutes to do rather than seconds because its so unresponsive.

If you wanted to use the stylus all the time theres no where to put in and there isnt even a case supplied with this phone, why supply one with the tocca but not the far most exspensive pixon...

And lastly, the most irritating thing of all is the battery life, its not just bad, its awful, the phone loses its charge within a day and that with normal use, not even phone calls, mainly texting, it just goes.

So all in all, this phone is not good, the camera is good and it has some pretty cool features like smile shot, but if your prepared to put up with all the negs then this is an ok phone, but if all the above are important to you then do not buy this phone, you will be more than disappointed, i know i was.

This is indeed a very awesome phone!! Has your usual type of Samsung layout that your used too, the touchscreen is very easy to get used too, there is lots of upgrades and cool gadgets, the camera/video is great quality, its worth getting a micro SDcard too for around ten pounds for another 8GIG memory if you want lots music etc, downloading files from your PC is easy too and you get all the software you need to do so. Great phone, simple, reliable, looks cool.

The unit has a standard jack on it so you can plug normal headphones in to it for music playback, it also comes with a set of earphones with a built in microphone. Excellent phone, was glad I went out of my way to get it, camera is very good, phone is responsive and easy to get to grips with.

 Battery life

I also found the battery life to be poor after seeing it only last a day but after looking around the net found by turning off HSDPA helps
