Samsung i7500 / Android / Sim Free / Unlocked / 5.0 Megapixel / Touch Screen Mobile Phone

Firstly let me say that this is a nice phone, if all you want is a nice phone read no further...

If however you want to take advantage of the Android apps marketplace then unless you're a nerd (or at least have strong IT skills) then this phone will disappoint since it has no built-in way to install anything that isn't already included. Yes, that's right: it has no "Market" application and no way to install one.

After I got over the initial disappointment - I bought it to use with OS mapping software - I did a bit of research before deciding whether or not to return it, and eventually (with much trial and error) I managed to find a "hacker" method to get apps onto it so I decided to keep it. I doubt that the average buyer would want the hassle.

Incidentally, although the description mentions "games" there are none, so that bit of false description would have been sufficient to return for refund. I don't want games anyway but if you do then this isn't the phone for you.

The bottom line is that although I'm glad I decided to keep it, and the LCD is SUPERB and perfect for my use (visible even in bright sunlight) I can't with conscience recommend it to others because of the crippling limitations for the general user.

if your looking for a good phone on android this has to be one of the best, must say i only gave it 3 stars though as it lacks android 2.1 unlike its younger brother samsung galaxy portal, so if your okay with android 1.5 then go for it but if its a 2.1 your after go for the other model, you wont be sorry.
