  • The success of '21' earned Adele numerous mentions in the Guinness Book Of World Records. She is the first artist to sell more than 3 million copies of an album in a year in the UK. With her two albums and the first two singles from 21, "Rolling in the Deep" and "Someone Like You", Adele became the first living artist to achieve the feat of two top five hits in both the UK Official Singles Chart and the Official Albums Chart simultaneously since the Beatles in 1964.

Some people immediately loved Adele from her first single. I have always found her good but not great. Until one evening I was sitting listening to random music and a song came on that I couldn't remember who sang it. I listened and was blown away. It was of course Adele. Ever since then I have found her utterly brilliant! Only heard a few tracks from her second album but already I can tell that it is superb. Look out for 'Someone Like You' beautifully brilliant and will take you back to when you first heard her sing the fantastic 'Make You Feel My Love'. Thank you Adele, you will give my ears a treat in the new year!

There's a reason that this album has been Number 1 for over ten weeks now and set a new record in doing so and that's because what you have here is heartfelt, emotional songwriting and powerful vocal work that has pure heart behind it. It's honest to goodness, old fashioned simple talent and quality bedded into every track.

Adele's lyrics embody experiences we've all had ('Someone Like You' for example should strike a chord with anyone who has ever been left by someone they still had feelings for with it's simple beauty) and can relate to and winds us into her songs with skill and care thanks to equally impressive production, knowing when to be tight and knowing when to bring in more sound. Her vocals are superb and that barely needs to be pointed out!

Her success with this album is well deserved and hopefully she will remain a singer/songwriting force for some time to come in the future.

Excellent from what I have heard

I have just recently heard what I believe is going to be the new single, 'Rolling In The Deep' and it is excellent if a little different from what she has done in the past which is a good thing. I loved 19 and hopefully it will be as good as that one but not the same as it's boring when artists do the same things from album to album.

I am a relative newcomer to Adele and purchased her album '21' based on the rave reviews it has received; I am planning to purchase '19' shortly as I have heard it is a debut alum to be reckoned with.
I have to say on the first listening to this album I was utterly blown away - I am partial to female vocals and this young lady has one of the best I have ever heard. My favourite track is 'Set Fire to the Rain' which I personally find quite haunting and emotional - I do like to have my music up loud in the car but am fast coming to the conclusion that it is dangerous for me to have this particular track belting out whilst driving as it draws you in in such a way that you find it hard to concetrate on anything else!
I would not fail to recommend this album to anyone and I can only wonder at what is yet to come from this talented young lady.
