I adore basement jaxx, their music is like a feast for the ears. A carnival of crazy, mad ideas that all fuse together perfectly with the incredible skills these guys posses in the studio. Their previous 2 albums went off on a bit of a tangent i think, creating some wonderful music but not as immediately accessable as their superb 1st 2 albums. With scars, i feel they have gone back to their roots (or rooty's), as this does in fact feel much closer in style to the jaxx's 2nd album "rooty". With only a few misses, the slower, less "jaxx" infused tracks stop this from being a perfect 5. It's such a pleasure to hear these guys making the kind of dance music that excites. Utterly inspired and catchy as hell... I dare any jaxx fan to not be bopping up and down to this in their cars or bedrooms, its infectious! Well worth a purchase, in fact.. It's essential!!!!
