well, certainly there's something about lilly allen that makes me smile, but it's not always her music. what she achieved is great: from scratch via myspace straight into the charts. wow. and her lyrics are far more mean and evil than those from some ol'mean hiphoppers, wich is an achievement that can have some value, but in my humble opinion i got it after four songs in a row. each song apart is very good, but to listen to a whole album in one try is simply too much. sorry if i will be lynched for this review.
Lily Allen, the Myspace phenomenon, has made an album for the Myspace generation. Sweet, funny and at times smart lyrics accompanied by catchy melodies is what this album is all about.
She captures the essence of many day-to-day situation in her lyrics and that makes songs like "Alfie" very enjoyable. The reason I give this a 3/5 is that it doesn't offer the longevity I hoped. It doesn't mean it's a bad album. Just that the songs loses their appeal after a while.
But for 4.99 I would highly recommend it.
