yes many of you will have many if not most of the tracks within this '2 cd' compilation, however put the songs of these era's together and the result is a really good listen with so many great tracks one after another.
in truth the songs cover a period of around '41' years and not '50'
i can honestly say i know and have memories of '39' of the '41' songs, in fact like me you'll maybe know most of the words as well, the music is that well known.
'apache' 'the shadows' is maybe the earliest and probably my favourite 'shadows' number, 'maggie may' the song that really launched 'rod stewart's' solo career, love it......also the best remembered songs from artist's like 'robbie williams' ( angel's ) queen's' ('bohemium rhapsody) '10 cc' ( i'm not in love ) and 'the animals' ( house of the rising sun ) plus so many more favourites.
i suppose it could be argued that tracks from 'the stone's' 'the beatles' ect would obviously enhance an album album with the claim of 'best of british' ....shame..but in truth it won't happen..not yet anyway.
the absence of stars like the above mentioned dosen't change the fact that this is a quality '2 cd' set.
i did consider buying this when released but somehow passed it by...not anymore.
the problem you may have getting the album at present is that on this site it's only available on 'play trade' at present, so availability may be limited, good luck, and good listenning.
