this album is the first and only reason why i started to enjoy music.
i stole this from my brother when i was 14 and it changed my life. i had no idea this kind of music existed. before this, i was listening to crap like Michael jackson and the Beatles.
i'm now 27 years old and i still think it's one of the greatest albums ever made

This album is the best punk album of the whole 90s. It is so over looked and i think this is a must buy for anyone who likes green day, rock or punk rock music. Stunning album

Pop Punk as it should be!

This album is good tune after good tune, good mix of raw punk and sing along choruses with a good variation of song topics. Lyrically it's sound and is a soundtrack for a generation. This album was one of the best albums of the 90's and set the template for punk records and Green Day records of the future. Buy this album, it's a steel for the price and you won't stop listening to it for months!

There's nothing like the original that made them famous!

I first bought this album on cassette (I know!) while I was at uni many moons ago. I've since bought it more than once (for myself and friends as gifts) and I would quite happily buy it if my copy ever went missing or got scratched.

For me its they're best album because its the original Green Day raw and at the time totally unknown. Other albums do come close I love American Idiot, and Insomniac (and other albums also have the odd classic track). They reminded me (at long last) of the classic british punk groups of old times which until this album was almost forgotten!

If you've not bought this and you like any Green Day album or even song you'll love this album guaranteed!

OK, if you know of Green Day before American Idiot its because of this record, If you don't own, for £2.99 its the sale of the century, for £9.99 its still a bargin.

this album have shifted over 15 million copies. Each track is listenable, packed with classics, almost every song can stand the test of time... with catchy hooks, sensational bass and near perfect drums, green day really came into their own with this record

it was the bands debut on major label warners subsiduary label reprise... after two early albums, one with potential and one showing that potential.

dookie is a step further with anthens that have lasted over 10 years at parties, rock clubs, live shows and more...

basketcase - the hit that most will still consider green days greatest song.

when i come around - my personal favourite song of all time

long view - the song of a generation bored of everything expressed though one voice and one fantastic series of lyrics floating over the masterpiece bassline from the fingers of mike dirnt

more classics that you can't sit still too, air guitar/drums are side effects of this contagious record, you will sing, dance and smile with dookie.

argueablly this is one of the top 100 records of the last 50 years.

a must own!

peace
xx
