OK, I can honestly say, that this is the greatest album I have ever had the privilage of listening to!!!
Only the best albums have tracks that can rival the singles, and (in the form of 'This River is Wild', 'Bling', 'Sams Town' and 'My List') this albums does!!! Even the two 'filler' tracks ('Enterlude' and 'Exitlude') are pretty cool in their own way...
I'll admit that my opinion may be a little biased, (as I'm a massive fan of The KIllers), but I truly can't understand why people don't like this album!?! and for the record, the whole idea that this album is a 'Bruce Springsteen Tribute' is stupid!!! Insane even!!!
If I was stuck on a desert island, and was only allowed to take one album (out of every album ever made!!) with me, it would be Sam's Town...
...well, provided there was a CD player on the island... lol...
Great, Difference, Musically More Talented Than There First

Its a great album...
As murtha said in a review below its very difficult to top your first album... yeah sure the killers didnt this album as good as there first, but its not that far off..
my favourites are obvioulsy the singles and one of my all time favourite tracks: Unkle Johnny.
Its an intresting record and at first it seems very poor.. but just listen to it a few more time.. im sure youll begin to love it like i did..
worth buy..

Best album I own by a loooong way. Love Hot Fuss but this is a step up in scale so feels more grandious. For Reasons Unknown could be the best song I have ever heard and the only other songs that can compete are other Killers songs. Not an album filler on this and I'd highly reccommend it. Brandon Flowers has helmed an almost unbeatable album...well lets hope the next at least equals it.
the killers are the best thing since sliced bread

i think topping the first album is impossible but this is still an awesome album with tracks lyk when we were young, for reasons unknown, read my mind, bones and a great track that has not been released called the river is wild.
Incredible!

I dont think I need to tell many people how good the Killers are but I have seen many bands now & nobody as of yet has compared to these boys for pure entertainment! they are by far the best band I have seen live when I saw them @ V Fest 07, they just blew the crowd away & people are still talking to me about that performance & will do for a while yet I think! It took me a while & a few plays of this album to get into it compared to Hot Fuss but it just grows on you more & more with each time you put it on! so my recommendation is that you must acquire this album & stick with it, then it wont ever be too far away from your system!
Outstanding

The first time I heard this album, I felt it didn't seem to represent why I loved the first Killers album so much. But after a few listens I realized how truly great the album is. With gems such as 'Read My Mind', 'When You Were Young', 'Bling', 'This River Is Wild' and the exceptionally good track 'Why Do I Keep Counting'. It is a a worthy sequel to Hot Fuss and dare I say just as good.
KILLER ALBUM - BEST ONE I BOUGHT IN 2007!!

Having already bought the 1st album, 'Hot Fuss', wasn't sure what to expect. Admittedly, I had to listen to it a couple of times, but after that I was hooked!! Yeh, it's different to Hot Fuss, but who wants to listen to the same material, time and time again!!! Absolutely love this album, just as much as Hot Fuss. Killers, you've done it again!!! Impressed me so much so that I've just bought the new album 'Sawdust' - yet another masterpiece.
Wow! What an Album...!

This is one of my favourite albums of the year. It's full of excellent songs from start to finish. The singles are great and this is an album for everyone to enjoy.
The Killers have their own unique sound, a fusion of disco and rock and it really shows in this album.
Must Buy for only €7.99
If you have any doubts about it, just buy it and you will be pleasantly surprized.

Like others who have reviewed this, I also loved Hot Fuss but sadly this isn't even in the same league. Melodies that aren't in the correct range for his voice, dull guitars, dull music, dull lyrics, very disappointed. Listened to it over and over hoping it would grow on me but no joy. One for the die hards only I think.
