Top 100 Music Reviewer

This album should just not work..... but it does. I had the same feeling when the Scissor Sisters covered one of my all time favourites... Comfortably Numb, I wanted to hate it, but the version was so good I couldn't. The 1 track I dont like is Pretty Green, but apart from that I loved the originals of these tracks and in some cases I like the covers even more. The highlight (not the obvious Amy Winehouse track) is Stop me, how you can merge the Smiths into 90's dance music, I dont know?..... Mark Ronson does!

Completely love this Album. Every Song is Brilliant, collabrations with Kasabian, Paul Smith, The Daptone Horns, Robbie Williams and ofcourse Amy Winehouse do do particuly stand out though. I've had this album for coming up a year and it still sounds as good as it did on Day 1.

This really made me want to punch things. He's just got some talentless idiots du jour to mangle some truly great songs, slapped his bony little face on the cover and waited for the cash to roll in. We deserve better than this, people.

This is Ronsons second album, although some people may not know, and has changed musical direction. His first album 'Here Comes the Fuzz' has a mix of rap and hip-hop with a hint of what he does now. What he does do now is a more commercial, catchy and creative take on some of the best singles that have been released. For all the people that say no to covers then I would like to highlight the success and regularity of doing so. Most people wouldn't even know that 'Stop Me' actually uses a sample and lyrics from another track and still sounds stunning.

This album really does outline the true genious and talent of the guy and shows what sort of an impression America can make on a musician. This sort of artist is on the up, with people like Timbaland also bringing out hit albums. Producers know what they are doing and are exploiting the musical market to the benefit of their wallets and most importantly many peoples ears.
He uses a great band type sound with string and horn sounds that run throughout and although there are a good selection of singles in this album I would advise listening to it from beginning to end to experience the full impact of Mark Ronsons music. Please ignore the fact that they are covers and just listen to the improvements he has made to all of the tracks. Just listen to the music.
