her debut-album 'frank' was quite 'frank' and this second album proves that amy winehouse is more than a gimmick. although her alcohol and drugabuse may give you another impression, amy winehouse really is a good artist. just look at the band she's playing with: the dap kings. these guys wouldn't even consider playing with her is she wasn't a real singer, you bet. so: well done.
looking forward to her third album, hoping there will be one and certain of buyin that one without hesitation.
Really fantastic

Fantastic voice, lots of stand out tracks. I agree with the last reviewer that she DOES need help, but aside from that, her music is fantastic. It would be a shame to see such a talented young woman throw it all away.
Fabulous album!

This album is great... hit after hit... there is only one song on the play list which is I'm not overly keen on.
I'm sure this is one album which won't be put away and forgotten about!

Wow, some people are very ignorant... one guy has said "Rehab is awful and its just gets worse from then on"... not 100% sure why he bought the album then if he didn't like Rehab?? Its "rubbish jazz.rock whatever"... just shows your lack of appreciation for the genre of music Amy works with.
Also one guy said shes no Aretha Franklin (who said she was) or Tina Turner (thank God she isn't!!!).
Amy is a modern day Sarah Vaughn, Billy Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Roberta Flack, Teddy Pendergrass, Marvin Gaye, Ray Charles etc etc. Good on here for taking on these greats without making them turn in there grave.
If you have a heart and soul and have ever been hurt, heartbroken or angry.... you will love this album. If you don't, you must be some sort of robot....
Insight To Brilliance

What with Amy Winehouse's personal dilemas making front page news lately, I thought that it is important to make sure that the real reason why she is there is not because of her questionable habits, but because of her undoubted, unique musical talent. This album is a perfect example of her genius, with some sure standouts, such as the addictive 'Rehab', the catchy 'Tears Dry On Their Own' & the heart felt 'Wake Up Alone'. Everyone who calls themselves a lover of music should add this masterpiece to their collection, as Winehouse brillantly combines music styles and deep lyrics in order to appeal to all. If you really want an insight into the life of Winehouse, put down the newspapers and magazines and listen to this.

Forget all the media hype - the comparison could be Pete Doherty (who? - I've read more about his so-called private life than his so-called music) and Miss Winehouse. The only difference is, you should care about the sort of music she can produce and forget all the rest of the Brits like Doherty thinking that we care. She needs to deal with her stardom and go on to greater things. I've only managed 4 stars because from the opening bars this album blew me away, but I'm afraid it peters out towards the end. But there are enough awesome gems in here for me to recommend that you buy it and hope for more. "Love Is A Losing Game" and "Tears Dry On Their Own" are sublime. "Amy Winehouse Live?" I can only hope and I will be first in the queue.
