all these reviews are just ridiculas, since the first and second album, this album really does show how up them selves this band really is. All they care about is popularity and their sound now is just plain mainstream rubish. I dont no if they are just trying to be the new Metallica, but this band really isnt worth it. Do not buy this, it will be a waste of money and listening time. Im really seriously into extreme metal bands and i know this band is an embarrassment to metal!

This album is amazing. Yes they have changed from Ascendancy vocally but their music is still incredible. The lyrics have true meaning in relation to things happening in the World and this album stands out to me as awesome.

Trivium are a fantastic band and continue to amaze people with their musical talent. Their new album is going to be incredible and will be a mixture of the first 3 albums (Ember To Inferno, Ascendancy and The Crusade.)

I recommend picking up all 3 of these albums, all amazing.

I hope this helps anyone interested in this album.

I loved the Ascendancy album and ordered The Crusade from the US so I could get it sooner.... Soo disapointed there isn't really a great standout track! It's all gone more mainstream and they seem to have lost some of shouting which was kinda what they did. I'm gonna wait and see a few reviews before I even think of getting Ember To Inferno (the new album).

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars I quite enjoyed this one!!

Having just got into Trivium, I had just bought Ember to Inferno and Ascendency. I thought I may as well give this one a go too.

First thing I thought was "Have they borrowed James Hetfield from Metallica?". I personally don't think it a bad thing for bands to move in a different direction and like the new sound of the album!

In a simalar vein to Avenged Sevenfold, the new sound suits the band rather than destroys it like some people think.

As for the songs, I believe the highest point is Entrance of the Conflagration. The tightness of the riffs with the drums and the chorul voice that goes over the top is very epic and sounds quite cool!

Personally, I think this album deserves a listen from any metal/rock fans who are not stuck in the "I hate new albums" mind set!

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars Why does everyone have a problem with it.I think its awesome

Top 100 Music Reviewer

In my opinion i think this album is awesome, i'm the one who usually likes the underrated albums and bands. Whats not to like on this album great lyrics, solos, vocals, riffs and drumming. This album is very impressive. I can understand why people don't like the song anthem i'm not a big fan myself but i still like it. Best songs in my opinion are Tread the floods(awesome), Entrance of The conflagration, Becoming the dragon, To the rats, This world Can't tear us apart, The Crusade & Detonation. Granted this is very very different to Ascendancy but it's great and heavy(nowhere near as heavy as ascendancy) but still is great metal. You can deffinatly hear the thrash influences in this, and i don't think they are trying to copy metallica, i'm guessing they wanted to try and be more thrash. But i wouldn't say there are thrash but they are pretty close to it. Yes this is very mainstream but it still brilliant. But everyones aloud to have there own opinion. Trivium fans deffinetly get this cause you may like or you may not. Ignore all reviews and get this. But for anyone else into metal, i'm not sure download couple of songs and see what you think. Overall I think it's an awesome.

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars A good attempt at a change in direction

I don't agree with anyone on here who says this album sucks, neither do I agree with anyone who says it is brilliant. It is in no way better than The Crusade, end of.
I listen to all kinds of metal, from Scar Symmetry to Firewind, Testament to Sonata Arctica and everything in between and this is a very good album. The 80's thrash influences are heard very clearly, and you can also hear influence from NWOBHM bands such as Maiden, Priest an Saxon.
Standout tracks on this album are the double attack of Igniton and Detonation, with powerful riffing and epic choruses, Entrance Of The Conflagration, with its amazing riffs and catchy lyrics, the thrashy Becoming The Dragon, and the epic The Crusade instrumental track, which is one of the best instrumentals I have ever heard (this is a lot coming from a big Dream Theater fan)
All in all, I think this is a very good effort, but not the best I've heard. The cheesy moments (Anthem suddenly springs to mind) kind of ruin it for me but its still a good album. They can only improve on this new sound for the next record

An embarassing attempt at "music" from a band who clearly know how to play, but don't have the faintest idea of how to write an even halfway engaging song. Pathetic, uninspired, worthless piece of tat. 'Nuff said.

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars Worst band ever!

This is just embarrassing, unoriginal, derivative, uninspiring metal by numbers. More like TRIVIAL!
