Songs like 'yummy' and 'don't get it twisted' could have been brill, with a little more work. Songs like 'breaking up' should have NOT been put on the album. 'Wonderful life' 'early winter and 'sweet escape' are good enough and are the 'keepers'. But as an album it's simply messed up. I do like some songs here, but its just not up to scratch.

 The Much Needed Escape

Compared to Love Angel Music Baby, this album is not impressive. It seems rushed & cheap. The sweetest escape is the only good track & even that is way too cheesy for this one time original rock chick. What happened to the Gwen in no doubt???

This is her best album so far. Most of the songs are gd. My favourite songs are Wind It Up, The Sweet Escape & 4 In The Morning. I liked her 1st album, Love Angel Music Baby, but this one is by far the best. I listen 2 it 'til 4 In The Morning

 Almost Perfect

I very nearly didn't buy this album because of the other reviews but liked two of the singles. I am so glad i did. I loved the album it has a mixed array of tempo songs which anyone would enjoy.

 Different but good

Ok if you loved the last album, be weary of a change hear. Most of the songs have a hip-hop feel, and i can't stand hip-hop, but i thought these songs were good.

It does take time to get used to the songs as some of them are a bit strange (like the ending of Yummy)

Am glad she had a change from the last album, even though i loved the last album.

This album has a few duets although it's mostly Gwen singing, it is catchy and i donno i just like the album, it kind of reminds me of No Doubt's Rock Steady album.

So if your a fan of hers buy it.

 it hurts to write this!!

I LOVE gwen Stefani, but am determined to tell the truth. I was a little dissappointed. Some of the songs seem like they were thrown together in 10 minutes, are a tad embarassing and therefore impossible listen to (orange county girl, now that you got it and breakin' up are horrendous) . But im giving it 3 stars partly for the sheer amount of balls this lass must have to be that experimental and partly because I believe there are 4 excellent songs on it and the others (except the ones I mentioned) are still quite good. If you haven't got any of gwens stuff and are thinking about it, get Love Angel Music Baby rather than this, its a trillion times better.

 Even more bonkers than before

This isn't a patch on her first solo album, 'Love, Angel, Music, Baby', as an album it doesn't hold together quite as well and just isn't as consistent enough throughout.
It starts off well, with the Sound of Music sampling 'Wind It Up', and 'The Sweet Escape' both of which are great R'n'B/dance tunes but after that it all seems to go a little bit dull and generic.
Where-as on L.A.M.B. each song was generally a surprise as to the type and style 'The Sweet Escape' only occasionally manages to match. The stand-out track by a mile is 'Yummy'. Produced by the Neptunes, it's rhythm heavy beat and production suit Gwen's style and voice down to the ground and should it be released this would undoubtably be a huge hit.
Ultimately it's the singles that sell an album and so far Gwen has made the right choice with regards to the singles she's released. The problem is that with so much filler on this album another big single could be a very difficult thing to find.
