Many people think the Bee Gees' career began with Saturday Night Fever but they have been writing incredible songs since the mid 60's. This collection pulls together almost all their work from this creative period and shows what an outstanding talent the brothers Gibb have always been.

Clearly influenced by the Beatles, but then, who wasn't during this time? the box set includes out takes, demos and the complete first 3 albums all beautifully packaged. The style ranges from Psychedelic pop to Rock to Ballads and includes one of the greatest songs ever written by anybody, namely To Love Somebody. Hard to believe it was written by teenagers, a classic.

For my money the Bee Gees were at their peak before they found their falsetto voices. Roll on the next set of re issues!!

A brilliant collection from the Bee Gees at a time when they were a work in progress. The harmonies are stunning, the melodies unique, and the sound authentic. They might have been at their most successful during the Saturday Night Fever era (1977-79) but, to my mind, they were at their best from 1967-74. This CD box set perfectly captures their early days, when their Anglo-Australian sound was still to the fore and their American sound had not yet been developed.
