Finally it is here. After almost 3 full years watching One eskimO play live, from the smallest of venues like the Betsie Trotwood pub in London (only four people in the venue), the Cobden club etc..... to supporting Faithless, playing the V Festival two year running and now on tour with Tori Amos and Paolo Nutini. After all this hard work the album is here and we cannot wait.
But as they say, you cant rush perfection.
This band must be the hardest working band in the industry, from the touring, effort, work, animation (which is stunning) and vision put into perfecting this amazing, warm and stunning album.
Kris's vocal's are excellent, soothing, emotional, and energetic throughout the tracks, which leave you wanting more. But its not just about the vocals... the melodies and exceptional production on this album make it a pure pleasure to listen to. Credit where credit is due, these guys are talented!
Standout tracks on the album are:
Amazing -heartfelt, uplifting and guaranteed to raise even the saddest moods, this song makes you feel alive and want to smile.
UFO - a more downbeat track with lyrics that are sung from the heart. "If I'm such a superhero, why does it fell like my feet cant leave the ground".
Hi, Lo and In Between - ok its a cover of an old Neil Halstead track, but better! Its a perfect close to the album, pure and simple, yet perfect. (iTunes deluxe download only)
Hometime and Kandi are two other tracks that make this album a great listen.
The only disappointment for me is the excellent "Hurricanes" is not on the album. Perhaps thats for album two?? Lets hope the wait isnt so long next time.
Catch them live if you can as they are even better live and put 100% effort into every gig.
This album is perfect for anytime, which you will want to listen to over and over again.
