The genre of this album is hard to tell. It's metal for sure. The cover of the album points to the vikingage in Scandinavia, which makes sense, the band being finnish. However a lot of the sound seems inspired from the middle ages. The song Stone cold metal even seems to parody some song from an old western movie.
However, this doesn't really matter, as the music is nothing short of brilliant. This is composing at it's greatest. The sound has great punch. The orchestra and the choir makes it even more powerful. The soundquality is OK, even for an audiophile system, although no reference.
This is a fantastic album. If you're into bands like Nightwish and Sonata Arctica don't even think about it, buy it! If you're generally a metalfan check it out! It just might be your cup of tea!
