I have always wondered when the day will come I will get that one album, the one piece of music where I cherish every song and never skip a track. The album which sends me to places I never thought music could. I have came close with other bands, but never actually got there. Well, this day has come, Sub Focus has done it. I now have my quintessential life soundtrack. So with that, thank you N Douwma, aka Sub Focus.

 essential drum n bass

Sub Focus blurs the lines between dubstep, drum n bass, trance & various other genres. it has the complexity of d n b, the bass weight of dubstep, the euphoria of trance & acid house.

SF blends all these diverse electronic genres together and creates something new. there's something here for everyone, this record even has crossover potential for rock fans- there are hints of progressive rock & psychedelia here which might please fans of MGMT and other dance-rock crossover bands.

there's no doubt that this album will appeal to hardcore ravers, dub heads and indie rock fans alike

 Sub focus's debut is stunning!

At long last, one of the most talked about [and delayed!] album is amongst us by certainly one of the most talented drum & bass producers in recent years.

Sub focus unleashes his self titled debut album which has had heavy support from Radio 1 and all the big A-list djs in the world lucky enough to have had promos of the album. Below are close ups of what i consider to be highlights from this great album.

The cd starts off with the stunning Vangelis inspired 'Let the story begin' with a intro that will literally knock your socks off! and that is before the electro synth line and heavy drop which has destroyed club nights across the world!

'World of hurt' is heavy as a sumo! with its catchy vocals and serious sub bass drop which will shake you to the core.

'Follow the light' is one of the highlights with its upligting melody and clever drum programming.

'Last Jungle' has been hailed as a true original with its slowed down amen drums and haunting melody.

'Deep space' is Sub focus showing his dance floor credentials with this deep & rolling tune.

'Rock it' is the top 40 chart hit with a stunning intro feat the sounds championed by Daft punk, this has certainly recieved the most exposure from the album and has even been played by electro djs.

'Triple x' is possibly the oldest sub focus tune on the album with it being played by Andy C nearly 2 years ago! Still it sounds fantastic with a nice catchy synth led opening and heavy sub bass.

Overall then this is a great great album that will certainly stand the test of time and hail Sub focus as one of the finest electronic producers of this generation. Prepare to have your ears tested and also check out the non drum & bass tunes which stand head & shoulders along with the rest of the album.

 Good music....

If you're a hardcore drum n bass head you may be dissapointed because this isnt a whole album of grimey rave out tunes, but thats not to say there isnt good music on this album there are several good tracks
