When Girls Aloud announced a break, people were eager to see where each girl went. Cheryl had already earned her title as the Nation's sweetheart when she took to the judging panel on The X Factor. But me and I am sure many others wouldn't have thought she would be the first to go solo or go solo at all.
Including the singles Fight for this love, 3 Words and Parachute, Cheryl worked alongside close friend Will.I.Am to create a fantastic album. Cheryl may not have a great voice like Mariah or the stage presence of Madonna, but Cheryl could potentially be one of the best British Pop stars.
The album is full of fantastic potential hits such as Happy Hour, Boy Like You, Make Me Cry, Heaven, Rain On Me and Stand Up. The album maintains a great flow and has that slight urban edge thanks to Will.I.Am who also appears on a few tracks. Cheryl even co writes a few tracks with him.
One of my favourite albums of 2009, Cheryl is easily one of my favourite new artists of the moment. Whether she can sing or not is very debateable among fans and critics, but as long as she is cracking out fantasic pop tunes, who really cares?
