The Very Best Of (2CD)

My initial reaction when I saw this CD was 'Not another Fleetwood Mac Best of!' - but check out the track listing; as well as the standard Buckingham/Nicks/Rumours era hits there are several more obscure Fleetwood Mac songs from the 'Tusk' album that although excellent songs were far too long to issue as singles in the 3 x minute limit era of 70's radio. Listen to 'Storms', possibly one of Stevie Nick's finest songs describing her feelings during the break up of a relationship. If you like Fleetwood Mac this is definitely one to add to your collection.

There are good songs on here. But this collection should really be named "Best of the later years" or something similar. How can a collection of Fleetwood Mac's so-called best songs lack so many of the songs written with Peter Green? Where's Oh Well or Need Your Love So Bad?

I Have to agree with Darktown review this is an excellent collection. This was out in the US in 2002 when we got the single disc version, so I bought it then. The difference is this sticks to the Buckingham Nicks era only, no Peter Green hits are here. It a comprehensive collection giving room to tracks like Go Insane only previously availible on the Dance DVD. Also you get a couple of tracks from the Chain box set, Paper Doll and Love Shines. Intrestingly they hav also decided to put the original 70's single mixes of Say you love me and Riannon which is nice as these were the original version bought on 7" and played on the radio, and it makes a change if you have the origal Fletwood mac album. This has enough to keep the fan intersted and also a good introduction to the new commers too.
