First time I had heard these songs were when I went to watch them at Sheffield and I had no idea they would be as good as their original tracks, especially Trouble, that song was outstanding, I also doubt you'd get a better price than on here,

 this is must

So I've been an avid phonics fan for 11 years in that time seeing them live 7 times, but my faith is starting to waver. Remember the days of Word Gets Around and Performance and Cocktails? well you could even say the first 4 albums; full of passion originality and to be honest at times even plain and simple fun! But all that seems to be gone! Ok the boy's previous offering Pull The Pin was a slight return to form but not totally there, so hopes were high for this album. But unfortunately when listening to this it sounds, as mentioned by others, as if they don't seem to care, the effort is just not there. It seems that this album was thrown together too soon after their 'Best Of' tour as a simple money spinner which is a great shame as the Passion of the guys from wales and the stories behind the songs was what earned them their public love and admiration. I'm hoping that this is just a low point rather than the future of the Phonics because they were my first love in music, if the main stream music business and style has taken over then... :(

Still, if you get the chance to see these guys live GO!! You will struggle to find a better live performance, that I can guarantee will always be true. Here's hoping for some passion and effort next time :)

Every stereophonics album is different and this another one of those good albums from the stereophonics. Lot's off brilliant songs on this like innocent, 100 mph, could you be the one, live 'n' love and beerbottle are brilliant. The album is a combination of brilliant accoustic style songs and brilliant rock songs. You won't be disappointed with this album.

 Genius

They've done it again!! Absolutely brilliant. Just fantastic in the car driving, I found myself singing and dancing in my seat to every song. I don't see how this can fail to disappoint true fans. Turn it up!!!! Kelly's genius song writing gift and clean sound from the band is far from disappointing. I loved the compilation Decade in the sun which has been on repeat in my car for months and it never fails to lift my soul.

I've just been to see them live on their latest tour for the 1st time and they are awesome!! And it will not be the last, Kelly's voice only gets better. Well done boys.

 They just get better

Well what can you say about the album other than it is yet again another top album from one of the greatest bands of all time.

The album is packed with top class tunes especially innocent which i love.

 Brilliant album!

It has so many brilliant and solid songs on it it's hard to know where to begin. My favourite songs: Innocent, Uppercut, I Got Your Number, Beerbottle. It highlights Kelly's songwriting gift all the way through.

The album is very topical - songs about flooding, and the recession - like the title of the album, it's very British ;)

I don't get how anyone could be disappointed by it. I was excited about getting it for christmas, and usually when I'm excited about something I end up disappointed from just expecting too much - but not in this case. Great album, 5/5. I've practically got it on repeat. I love the variety in style, it's like Pull the Pin for that- it has variety in the styles of songs - if you like Pull the Pin you're sure to like this one, as far as I can see.

Excellent work, Kelly Jones and co!

Dont think about it, Buy it

After reading reviews on play.com i wasnt going to buy this album as everyone seemed disappointed. So of course, as luck would have it, i recieved this CD as a Christmas present and was still doubtful.

That was until i listened to it, and i have to say this is a great Album. For me this CD tests Kelly's ability to sing which he pulls off to a high standard. Tracks like 'Trouble' 'Could You Be The One?' and 'Show Me How' highlight this.

'Stuck In A Rut' and 'I Got Your Number' best tracks on the album.

If you are a phonics fan you will love this.

Another chapter in the Stereophonic's effortless brilliance!

A suggestion BEFORE you listen to it especially if you are a fan of their other albums. Go to your computer. Go to stereophonics.com/bonus put your Cd in the disk drive and watch the commentary on the album. It really builds your appreciation for the songs individually. Its so easy to listen to an album when you arent in the mood or have certain expectations and then be disappointed and decide you dont like it without really giving it a chance. I almost did. But listening to the band tell you about the album really made the difference. Now I really love it! It showed exactly what you can expect so no disappointments.
Another thing. If you mainly like the Stereophonics for their ballads (Handbags and Gladrags. Since I Told You Its Over etc...) then you wont find what you are looking for. The Album is called Keep Calm and Carry On not Welcome to the Depression. The closest you get is the wonderful 100mph which still carries an energy meant to keep you going. The Lyrics give you all the depth you need. The sort of things go wrong but we carry on theme. If however you love them for their classic energetic rock (Las Vegas Two times. Madame Helga. Bartender and the Thief etc) you will be satisfied by the new classics Trouble and Shes Alright. Highlights for me? 100mph because I admire the song writing and the message crafted. I Got Your Number has a sound more like their Language Sex Violence Other album. Stuck in a Rut is just addictive. Beerbottle has a very different twist for the band. Very electronic. Which I cant help but love. In fact there seems to be a very electronic tone through most of the album. All in all the band have done themselves justice. They have matured very nicely and hopefully will continue to do so.
