    Top 100 Music Reviewer

This album is without doubt my own personal favourite album of all time, also Thin Lizzy themselves are my all-time favourite band so being objective of it is extremely hard for me in this instance, so much so that I really do not know what to be objective about, some say that this isnt 100% live but it doesn't matter in the slightest because the album is all the better for it

From the opening number of jailbreak through to the final last bars on the song the rocker, this album is truly something to be proud of from start to finish, the dual harmony lines between the two lead guitarists of the time Brian Robertson & Scott Gorham have yet to have been bettered by anyone else that i've heard of in my humble opinion at least, the rockers such as emerald, the boys are back in town, jailbreak and the rocker are fantastic and you can almost imagine the intensity that there must have been when it was being recorded and yet Lizzy do simple beautiful ballad type songs just as well and in this case perhaps even better, still in love with you, dancing in the moonlight and southbound prove to be case in point on this occasion, brian downey just never misses a beat and is probabaly an awful lot more underrated than he ought to be and then finally there is phil, quite simply the most charismatic irishman i've ever came across, not only could he play the bass solidly and get some pretty decent grooves coming from it but, he could also sing like no other, he was able to switch between the gruff rocker dude into the fragile romeo in the blink of an eye and in just a few choice words he could charm almost anyone into doing anything

Basically this album shows all of the different sides and strengths that Thin Lizzy posessed which turned them into legends in the eyes of their fans, absolutely magic

     The best live album ever?

This is a classical live album, perhaps the best ever released. It is a statement of what is possible to achieve with four talented musicians. Even today, thirty years later, it stands out.

     lynott rocks!!

this cd is great!! imo the best songs on it are dancing in the moonlight and emerald - but other songs like jailbreak, for example, also benefit from being live, i.e. extended solo's!! vicous rumours float around saying this isn't completly live, and someparts are over dubbed or whatever ... but who cares?
