The Seldom Seen Kid: Live At Abbey Road (CD & DVD)

Simply amazing! I played this through my surround sound system and its simply fantastic. The cd is the same soundtrack as the dvd which is much better than the studio version. The album gets its name from a friend of the band who Guy Garveys dad nicknamed 'The seldom seen kid'. The last track is dedicated to the memory of this friend as he sadly died, very moving watching Guy sing the last track.

What an experience ! The Seldom Seen Kid really comes to life with this release. Recorded live with the BBC Concert Orchestra both band and orchestra make this an all new experience of the already brilliant album itself. The DVD has an impressive surround-sound (as always when the BBC is involved), it seems the album has been written to be performed with orchestra and choir. A must - have!

A must have for any fan of music, its pretty much the excellent performance we were lucky enough to get on the red button. That means the whole of the already exceptional seldom seen kid performed by manchesters finest but this time with a full orchestra and choir. The dvd has an exceptional 5.1 mix engineered by mr Potter which has to be heard to be believed placing you right in the heart of the ensemble. Buy it or miss out on the musical event of 2009!!

This concert can be found in pretty good quality on youtube, but I've not doubt that this will surpass that. If you've not seen it, look it up (make sure you watch it in High Quality), if you have seen it, then you know that it's worth buying! Can't wait for it to come!

The seldom seen kid played by the BBC concert orchestra is a million percent better than the studio version. I think a day like this is the most beautifull song I have ever heard and I can't stop playing it. Elbow have out done themselves with this song and album for that matter, well done.
