great second album from Delain. its been mentioned that theyre similar to Within Temptation.... well thats because Martijn Westerholt was one of the original members of Within Temptation and a key influence on their sound! he left due to illness. he then founded Delain. there are occasionally similiarities which is unavoidable considering martijn was the keyboardist from WT, but Delain do have their own sound. worth checking out if youre a fan of the Genre

This 2nd album from Delain is in one word.... Awesome!!
If your into your Female fronted metal bands then this will be right up your street.. It has many aspects of Nightwish in this album but not has heavy. But hey, they are their own unit and definatly not trying to copy Nightwish. Even Nightwish,s Marco guests on 2 of the tracks..Charlottes voice is amazing. Its soft yet very powerful... The opening and title track, builds like a steam train and is a great track to set the pace. Not a bad track on the entire album.. One of the best albums in a long time... Highly recommended!!! 10/10

 without temptation

far too many comparisons to within temptation i`m afraid for a band who are much lighter in their music and less gothic..not as heavy as w t can be and only having a single guitarist does limit that humph that gothic rock bands need.nice vocals but a bit ethereal and light for my liking..will go far but as with many other bands of this type, its nothing new or different.

 Second coming another hit!!!

Great second addition to their discography with this album. Great variation throughout with the title track leading the way in my opinion.

A new era of Symphonic//Gothic metal is upon us and these guys are competing with the likes of Within Temptation, Nightwish and many others out there now.

Keep an eye out for them, they will be massive in years to come.

Album is well worth a buy.

 Sublime goth rock

Wonderful album, one of the very few that I love every track on. Delain have taken over from Within Temptation in my book, and live they are astounding; Charlotte's voice is beautiful. Buy this, and it will make your life more fufilled. Or something.

This is a great album by a band you'll be hearing a lot about in the coming years!

Saw them live in Tilburg when they opened for Kamelot and I was truly impressed.

Highlights of the album: Stay Forever, Nothing Left, Control the Storm (with Marco Hietala of Nightwish).

 BRILLIANT ALBUM!!!!

Delain is by far my favourite symphonic metal band, and they have produced an amazing album to follow their previous album lucidity which was also very good. However, I prefer this album to Lucidity, as every single track is as good as the other, with excellent vocals and backing, creating a powerful and melodic sound.
This album certainly exceeded my expectations, with tracks such as Virtue and Vice, Nothing Left and April Rain being especially good. Marco Heitala's voice is slightly cringe-worthy at times, but he only sings in a couple of tracks and they still sound good.
This is the best symphonic metal album that i have and i would recommend it to anyone before Within Temptation, Nightwish, Epica etc, as i can't see why anyone wouldn't like it. It is must-buy album!!!

Much improved from their first album!

With their last album there is a very strong Within Temptation sound, and i felt it sounded too similar. That undoubtedly came from their ex keyboardist Martjin Westerholt, and i think Within temptation helped in the production of the album.

This one however, is a LOT better. Charlotte's voice is put to much better use here than in the last album Lucidity, as she uses a much wider and controlled vocal range. The band also have a much more unique and original sound here, which is more uplifting.

There are also a few appearances from Marco Heitala (from Nightwish), who adds another layer to the music with his vocals. Since im a fan of Nightwish also, i found this added to the awesomeness of an already brillaint album.

Well worth a listen for symphonic metal fans, and i think its quite accessible to people who are not particular fans of the genre too.
