     The jewel in Elbow's crown...

In light of how well The Seldom Seen Kid has been doing since it's release, in sales and awards, it's seems a shame that their truly finest moment has almost been forgotten. Which is the reason behind this review now.
Cast Of Thousands stands out as a brilliantly well crafted record, blending rock, haunting strings, and melodies that will make even the hardest of listeners feel somewhat sensitive. With subtle changes of pace throughout, one moment you will be uplifted, the next it will leave you emotionally drained.
It's hard to pick any stand out tracks, but the opener Ribcage gets things off to a very fine start with it's downbeat edge, slow thumping drums, deep bass and all held together with moments of screeching guitars. And things just get better and better. Personal favourites are Fugitive Motel, Not A Job, and the eerie but beautiful Switching Off (I promise it will make your hair stand!!!)
Cast Of Thousands is in fact quite different from their most recent albums. It's less pop, no anthems, and without any real obvious single(s), but is by far their most stunning record to date.
Elbow have never sounded this good, music has rarely sounded this good - in all theirs, and one of musics hidden gems.

     Totally Awesome

I agree with the other 2 reviews, tho thought ad add a bit more info on there live performances. If you get into this band, which you should or are already into them. I really recommend going to see them. I went to seem them earlier this year and they were fantastic, one of the best bands av ever seen live. The sound was just totally monumental really. Excellent Band.

     A real gem

Completely agree with the other reviewer here - this is a masterpiece from a band you can really rely on. Switching Off is the twinkling, lump-in-your-throat highlight and Grace Under Pressure is a stirring anthem that few bands could match, but it really is a fantastic record throughout. Garvey's eloquent way with words, his angelic croon and the sterling musicianship from the band throughout this record make it a showcase of a band at the top of their game.

Check out all of their records and enjoy. At last we have a current, enduring British band to be proud of.

     Spectacular

These guys won't let you down. If you haven't introduced yourself to them yet then pick up any of their 3 albums, put it on, sit back and let the music wash over you.

Cast of thousands carried on where "Asleep in the Back" left off and took it on to another level. Listen out in particular for Fallen Angel, Fugitive Motel and Grace Under Pressure, however the standout track is Switching Off beautiful doesn't even begin to describe it.

    Classic stuff.
