This album is quite brilliant starting with the entertaining mini rock opera One Night In Paris, all four members sing like birds and the piano playing is wonderful throughout.
What can you say about I'm not in love? It still sounds otherworldly and is beautifully sung,a true work of art, there is nothing else like it.Blackmail is an excellent rocker with superb slide guitar from Eric Stewart.Side two opens with another rocky track Second Sitting For The Last Supper, played at a breathtaking pace with the usual very clever lyrics. The rest of the album is strong with Flying Junk my particular favourite, full of lovely acoustic guitars. This edition is worth getting for the bonus tracks as well, the comical Channel Swimmer and the beautifully sung atmospheric Good News.
The album is very well produced and still sounds fresh today. All four members could sing, write and play brilliantly as well as produce themselves, you cant say that about too many bands thesedays.....essential listening
