Supertramp a the peak of their most creative era. In this remastered release of their 1979 tour album we have the classic Supertramp line up. Supertramp are one of those rare acts who manage to stir the soul and the emotion with their haunting lyrics and virtuoso renditions of their back catalogue. Poignant, witty, sad, apocalyptic, at times self indulgent, they are never prententious preferring to let their music speak for itself. In this one live performance we hear a band at their peak. Highlights include a passionate delivery of Hide In Your Shall, the spooky ecological nightmares of Fool's Overture and Crime of the Century. For those new to this great band there are the familiar hits; Dreamer, Breakfast in America, Take the Long Way Home. The whole stands up as a worthy addition to any collection of 1970s progressive rock. This is Supertramp showing us that they were up their with the greats. Whatever happened to bands who could really write songs?
