i recieved my copy of the album today and all i can say i wow!!!! an amazing piece of music here by the prophets they have truly stood to there word about sayig this album is worth the wait look out for the standout tracks such as dstryr/dstryr and next stop atrocity
on a personal note i still dont think this album is better than start something as some of the songs in the betrayed are quite like liberation transmission which as an album i didnt like the direction they went in.
out of 10 i give this album 9
This album is everything you should have come to expect from Lostprophets, high quality songs, awesome vocals and instruments with a touch of commerical influence. I don't think people should compare albums to other albums, it's easy to say that this album is no where near as unrefined and untamed as Fake Sound of Progress but this isn't supposed to be its rival, bands albums should be judged for what they are not what they were. This album has many songs that are easily among their best yet, particularly 'Dstryr/Dstryr' and 'Next Stop Atro City' to name a few. This album admittedly does retain elements of all their albums, with songs soft enough to pass as songs from the last album aswell as songs with enough force to pass as 'Fake Sound of Progress' songs (slightly annoying endings included XD). If it were possible I would have given this 4.5/5. It did take me 2-3 listen throughs to truly appreciate how good this album was and I'm honestly suprised it did take that long.
A must for any LP fans and well worth the money for any rock/heavy music lovers.
The first thing I should probably say about this album is that it really is very good, especially in comparison to Liberation Transmission. Style wise, the album is a fairly accurate mix of all 3 previous lostprophets albums. It's also good to see the interludes between songs, which i loved from SS and FSOP making a re-appearance
In some regards this is one of the albums biggest strengths. If you are fan of rock music then there is bound to be a few songs on here that satisfy your taste.
However, all that aside I can't help but feel somewhat dissapointed by the album. On numerous occasions I can't help but feel that the band have leant too heavily on their influences and this shows through in the songs. Streets of Nowhere for example sounds cringingly like The Jam.
Nevertheless this is a top album and a definite buy!
Amazing album but listen to it a few times to fully appreciate it. Some tracks are brilliant and remind me of their earlier stuff but others are something new and different but are also fantastic!
Must buy for any Lost Prophets fan or general fan of Alternative Rock
Theres a couple of good songs that reminds you of their last album but nothing compares to the fake sound of progress and start something!! lostprophets is the new kings of leon (losing their rock on each album and starting to aim at the pop genre!!!)
